Re: Loss check in

  • Have you taken any new steps towards healing this week? Not really, but no steps back. I did notice that I tend to fill out my TTCAL check in before the loss one, and I think that's good.

What is the next goal you have set for yourself? Do you have a plan to help achieve that goal?
Continue to be healthy..I need to walk more. I fell out of habit, and the weather has been gorgeous and I need to take advantage of it!

Ana is buried about 20 minutes from where I live, in H's home town. I like her spot, it's right near a tree. We visit often. We went the other day, and she has had a butterfly and dragon fly decoration since the day she was buried. They were gone! Her other decorations were still there....usually when they mow they do take them out and leave them laying on the ground (which I think is rude anyway). But, we couldn't find them. It was rather frustrating. We looked around the area and couldn't find them. But, both his Mom and Grandma came and left her flowers which I thought was very sweet.

Have you taken any new steps towards healing this week?
I don't think so, right now because everything is so fresh, I'm just trying to make it through my days.

What is the next goal you have set for yourself? Do you have a plan to help achieve that goal?

I have a plan to start working on a project with my brother in law this weekend.  He is a pro at sewing, so I have enlisted his help in making memory teddy bears out of Georgia's receiving blankets.  I would like to make them for our niece and nephew and our nephew who is due in September- so they can have a little piece of her to hold. I also want one... if I get the hang of it I might just make as many as I can with the fabric I have. (I had just bought three packs of receiving blankets before she passed and they weren't delivered until last week)... so although she didn't use them all, they were intended for her and picked out with love.  My other goal is that I am starting back at work on Tuesday.  I am working Tues and Weds, then MTW for the next two weeks, then back to M-F on the 23rd.  I figured it best to ween myself into things again.

Georgia is buried in a very pretty cemetery about five miles from our house. We haven't gotten her a grave marker yet, because it was expensive enough just getting plots (we bought our own plots and she is buried in one of them).  I couldn't stand the thought of not being with her, so we just got ourselves set up for afterlife while we were at it.  I visit when I can.  We planted a tree in our backyard in memory of her, and received a lot of decoration gifts to be put around it- so I have used a few of those to bring out to her instead.  She has a pink polka dot pinwheel, and a pretty butterfly stake.  We've also taken flowers and a teddy bear that my neighbor had given us.
  • Have you taken any new steps towards healing this week? I finally made my appointment with a MFM. I have been meaning to do it for weeks. The appointment is on the 16th.

What is the next goal you have set for yourself? Do you have a plan to help achieve that goal? I need to figure out what we want to find out from the MFM. I really don't know. Maybe I will before we go or maybe while we are there.

QOTW: Is your child buried? cremated? If buried, do you visit/decorate your childs grave? We buried Nathaniel. His grave is pretty close to our house, but we have only been there once since the funeral and that was last month when we went to order a marker for him. We are going tomorrow. My parents are in town and want to see it. They were at the funeral, but it was snowing that day and we had the service in the masoleum so they didn't see where his grave would be.

  • Have you taken any new steps towards healing this week? No, I still feel like I'm regressing as we get closer to his due date. We are really not looking forward to that weekend. Saturday is his due date and Sunday is fsther's day and will mark three months since we lost him.

What is the next goal you have set for yourself? Do you have a plan to help achieve that goal? I'm trying to get back into the habit of working out two to three days a week. I worked out twice this last week. :) I plan to work out again on Tuesday and Thursday. I also bought myself a new workout outfit.

QOTW: Is your child buried? cremated? If buried, do you visit/decorate your childs grave? Ben was cremated (that was so hard to type). He is in the organization system (a cube thing from ikea) in the living room. He has his own square that has a picture of him and his urn. I kiss him hello and goodbye every day.
