Packing for my wedding & honeymoon

MH and I got married by a judge a few months ago, but this Tuesday we're having a small ceremony in Asheville with our parents and our dog Charlie. We'll be having the dress, photographer, videographer, etc so we'll have the memories and pics for the kiddos. Then on Thursday we leave for our 10 day honeymoon in Hawaii, which we are super excited about!

What I am NOT excited about is the packing! I'm so hot and nauseated and having to move around and bend over my suitcase is making it worse. I wish I could snap my fingers and have it done! We'll be gone for 10 days so I need a lot but I don't want to lug two suitcases. Anyone have any tips on packing efficiently? Or want to come over and help? ☺️

  • Make a list and stick to it. Pack by color so that most things match (limits shoes). Roll instead of fold if possible. Take out half of what you think you need.

Unfortunately I don't have a lot of mat clothes so I have to take what I have with me, including matching shoes, but that shouldn't be too bad.

  • I'm horrible at packing. I get board half way through and am like "eh, if I really need it I can buy it there."

  • I've decided that 15 minutes of packing was sufficient, and am now laying around like a slug.

I've become ruthless. One pair of shoes; maybe a pair of pretty flats if we're going out somewhere. Two pairs of pants max. A lightweight dress. For 10 days, I'd just plan to find a place to do laundry midway through your trip.

Oh I have already resigned myself to needing to do laundry at some point.

  • I aspire to pack like this. It NEVER happens.

  • Confession: I don't do laundry unless I get super sweaty. Otherwise I just wear them however many times until they smell. I'm like the ultimate lazy bum. Especially on vacation.
  • @growinghope‌ that was amazing! I don't have that much talent, LOL. @CuppyCakes721‌ On a few occasions I have turned undies inside out to get an extra day, and worn bikini bottoms as undies. I'll hang my head in shame now. Although with temps in the high 80's I won't be able to rewear things without washing them.

  • Haha I reword things without washing when we went to Florida which was in the 90s with a million percent humitity. But I knew I was gonna sweat anyway. I didn't rewear underwear, mainly cause I have so much. But pants and shirts you bet I did. And then I had an outfit I would wear to dinner that was relatively clean. And in the hotel we basically didn't wear anything anyway. It was our honeymoon after all.
  • I always overpack so I can't help there. But have a great time!!
