I'm a CPA and work for a CPA firm. I've always strived to be the "shining star", the overachiever, the one with the fastest and most efficient work turnover...and then I got pregnant.
I have absolutely NO motivation to do anything at work, and there are parts of me that aren't bothered if the partners notice my decrease in productivity. The industry is "chargeable time" based and my chargeable hours have dropped over 50%. I'm not sure what the heck is going on with me, but I need a swift kick in the booty.
Anyone else dealing with the loss of motivation at work? Any tips on how to get back to being the worker bee? All I want to do is comment on The Bump, baby gear shop and step out of the office for naps.
Re: Productivity at work is no longer in my vocabulary. Any tips?
I've definitely had days where I have been less than motivated lately. It doesn't help that I'm wrapping up my role in one department and about to move to another one. So I'm handing off work, closing some projects, but I haven't started picking up things for the new role yet.
Anyway, I recommend making a list for the day (or part of the day) then pushing through it to get it done. In addition, you may want to download an app like Leech Block for your browser that you can set up to stop you from hanging out online for endless hours. Good luck!

As for picking back up the pace, I've been forcing myself to make work my only priority. Once I leave I can veg out all night long and not feel bad at all. I also get up every hour or so and take a quick walk around to keep myself from getting too sleepy!

I cannot focus mentally either. I have a job that requires a lot of thinking and honestly I'm more mentally tired than I am physically. Pregnancy brain is a real thing.
Sorry to admit this mamas, but I'm SO GLAD to hear that I'm not the only useless person out there!
Cheers to unmotivated, exhausted, sick of everything divas. We rock!

I can't surf the web easily at work so having a blocker might be good for you.
You could also grab a coworker and find an area to work together. I find that puts a little pressure on you to get shit done.
Honestly sometimes I just have to take work home. It sucks but I'm just not as efficient when I feel like I'm going to barf all day.

I'm growing a human! It's exhausting work, and the office is just going to have to take a back seat for a while.
