Injection fail - I suck at life today.

Usually my DH does my follistim shots for me but he's been OOT for work this time. The last two cycles he's done all of my shots except one because he was at work super late.

This time...different. So I go to do it, he was on the phone with me so I wasn't alone. And I finally convinced myself to do it....and nothing happened. I'm like wtf? So I pulled it out and checked everything, seemed OK. Tried again thinking I just was being super gentle and I didn't press the button hard enough. Nothing happened.

Realize that the damn thing was empty and I couldn't tell. So I had to redo everything. So three stabs later IUI #2 is underway. I took a picture of all the little blood spots so my DH could understand why I was cussing. :(

    Awww... haha thats ok my mom is a nurse and was giving a TB shot and stuck the needle in this guys arm and realized she never put the tuberculin in the syringe....  :))

    I've stuck myself before but forgot to dial up a dosage. I gave the pen to my husband once after I dialed the dosage and he pushed it before he even stuck me so med squirted everywhere and he's a Dr. He no longer gives me my shots.

    It's like as soon as we start this procedure our brain fails. Good luck this cycle.

    Aww, that sucks! At least you noticed that it was empty, instead of thinking you got the injection and continued about your day. :)

    March 2014 - HSG left tube blocked, right tube partially blocked bilaterial partial obstruction; onward to the RE in April
    May 1, 2014 - Lap surgery and chromopertubation; Dr removed a bit of endo, but everything looks healthy & tubes are clear!
    May 2014- First medicated cycle, 2.5mg femara+TI; BFN
    June 2014- 2.5mg femara + hCG + IUI     on 6/18= BFP on 6/28!; C/P on 7/3
    July 2014- 2.5mg femara + IUI #2 on 7/18. Starting progesterone 7/23, bfn
    August 2014- 2.5mg femara + hCG + IUI # 3 on 8/15. BFN
    Tx break
    IVF #1 -
    12/1 - TOT & SIS- RE found a polyp
    12/15 - Hysterscopic surgery to remove the polyp; additional polyps found and removed
    12/29- Good baseline u/s, 12 antral follies
    12/30- Started stimming
    1/10 - ER: 17 retrieved, 14 fertilized!

    Sorry you went through that!!  I give you and all the other ladies props for being able to give yourselves the injections in the first place.  I am such a wimp with needles and have to have my DH do them for me.

    aghh biggest fear!!!!

    DH is scared to death of needles, so he will be NO help come inject time.  My friend who lives down the street is a nurse, so I may need to call on her!

    it is so hard to give yourself a shot! I am terrified of needles but had to suck it up with my ovidrel 2 cycles in a row....idk how you ladies do daily injects! mad props!!!

    @KristenG2011 my DH was doing them. But he had to stand 24 hour duty so I had no choice the first time.

    Then he was gone when I started the injections this time....and I'm actually a lot gentler than he is, so it doesn't hurt as much. But it takes longer because I Have to convince myself to actually do it lol.

    jszy10 that's great you have a friend nearby who can help though!

    rella22 I'm doing ovidrell tonight, I've always had it done in office so I'm nervous....
