Changed my first ultrasound..Damn you PGAL Brain

My RE had scheduled my first ultrasound for today and I was all scheduled to fly up to the city but last night i decided to change it to next week. I am only 6 weeks and 2 or 3 days and the more and more that I have been reading about what to expect on 6 week ultrasounds I just don't want to bring the added stress of a not so good ultrasound. I don't want to not be able to see the heartbeat or it be really slow and just be told to come back in a week anyways. So I just called and rescheduled everything until next week. I am sort of excited to get another week of being pregnant without the possibility of someone taking it away from me. Hope you ladies have a wonderful weekend!

FX for a good ultrasound next week! I did the same. My OB wanted me to come next Thursday for my first u/s but I would only be 5w6d. My PGAL brain has been good so far but I know we likely wouldn't see a HB yet and I didn't want to worry myself unnecessarily at this point so I moved mine back a week until 6w6d. It's an extra week to wait but I think it's worth it! GL!

I also think you made a good call. I think one thing that we probably all realize is that there isn't much we can control with pregnancy but when we do get to have some control such as knowing that at 6 weeks you might not see much it can really help manage emotions.

I think that was a smart move. I couldn't get in for my first u/s until I was 8 weeks and I was super bummed, but the figured, I might not see much at 6 weeks, and an 8 week u/s would be much more conclusive and probably save me from being in limbo.
