Serious 1st Appointment Anxiety!!!

Hi Ladies!!!

I am currently 6 weeks 3 days with baby number 1!!!! We feel so blessed and excited but I am having serious anxiety as I wait for my 1st OB appointment! When I found out we were expecting, I was about 4 weeks 5 days. Called my OB immediately and the appointment was set for June 3rd! It's only 1 week at this point but it feels so far...too far... away. I feel great...no nausea. ..no frequent urination....very fatigued. I just want confirmation that everything is OK from my Dr. Did anyone else experience these pre appointment jitters?

Yes, what you are feeling is quite normal. We all pretty much feel the same. The waiting can really get to you. Your appt will be here before you know it. Good luck.

This is my third and I still get insanely nervous right before an appointment. I'll be fine until like the night before and then I'm all crazy jittery. I have a dating u/s today, but I don't meet with my OB until June 20!

Congrats! My appt. is also on the 3rd for an u/s to determine if it's viable/ectopic..I'm going nuts! Keeping myself very busy and trying to stay positive...think just one more week baby!!

Don't worry, I'm sure most of us feel the same. I'm getting anxious just waiting to get called back to even make an appointment. Come on people, I'm excited. Pick up that phone!!

My appt is also on the 3rd too. I think we are exact weeks gestation. So fun. I'm trying to stay positive & calm.

Definitely, my ultrasound is this Friday and I'm terrified. I just pray I see a good heartbeat!!

I wasn't anxious before, but while waiting for my appointment I had a full on freak out. I got hot, dizzy, and got hives on my face. I relaxed as soon as I saw my healthy little blob with a good heart rate.

Thank You! You all are wonderful. As of yesterday I officially have a new symptom. ...increased appetite or HUNGER PAINS as I like to call it :-O . No complaints. .embracing every aspect of this blessing.

Anxiously waiting for my first Appt too. Which isn't until June 9 uggh. Seems like forever. My edd is jan13. At least based on my lmp. Other than not sleeping, no symptoms, so definitely nervous. Trying to stay positive and hope for the best. Can't wait to hear a heart beat.

I know HOW vain this sounds, but aside from hearing all is well with baby, my biggest worry about our first appointment is not having my weight yelled out in front of my hubby haha -- it's the ONE little shred of info/dignity I'd like to keep to myself through the coming months haha. He could care less, but I've always been weirdly private/hung up on the numbers. Yes, shame on me for being so shallow

I'm anxious for my first appointment too! It's tomorrow afternoon... I'm excited to hopefully hear or see the baby and get info but nervous that I could hear bad news or that the ultrasound thing is painful (even though I heard its not). A lot of ladies on here have said the first one is a breeze though and they mostly want to get your medical history, figure out your EDD and if you get an ultrasound they just check to see that everything is going smoothly. Time does feel like it moves slow but just a few weeks ago I thought this first appointment would take forever to get to and now i'm just a day away so it really will go by fast! Good Luck

With my first i actually told the dr i didnt want to know my weight each week, just for htem to tell me if i needed to eat more or less! it worked out well i only gained about 30lbs

Haha, I knew I gained about 30lbs since our wedding last year so I made DH wait in the waiting area and then asked the nurse to bring DH to the room.

DH & I had 1st appointment anxiety too. But, I think I'm more anxious now waiting for blood test results and my ultrasound appointment in 3 weeks.

I'm about 5 weeks now and already had my 1st appointment. I don't know how you're able to wait until June 3rd for yours. More power to you mama!
