  • 1. Related to PP: My career has been in a downward spiral for a couple years because it's hard to be an arts teacher right now. I'm perfectly happy to SAH...until I'm at school. I also know that if I don't get at least a part-time job for the fall, my teaching career is over. I've been busy telling everyone it would be great because I can SAH. But part of me -- a bigger part than I'll admit, I think -- is terrified I'll become boring and stupid and won't like being home every day. (I'm not saying SAHM's are boring/stupid/blah blah blah.) I'm overwhelmed by all the feels right now.

    2. My LO hates tummy time. Unless he can watch TV during it. He especially likes Brian Williams. So we watch TV on our tummies and ignore the screen time crap.

  • I want to get a pair of bicycle type shorts to wear under dresses, to stop the chafing.

I have been thinking about getting a cute pair of shorts to wear under dresses because I find it hard to keep my legs together when getting up and down off the floor and playing on the floor with a baby. I love dresses in the summer, but I'm not sure it'll work otherwise. A patient of mine is a nanny and came in wear cute lace trimmed leggings that came to her knees, under her dress, because of playing with the kids.
  • My H put in for an overseas assignment awhile back. He discussed it with me, and at the time I said it was fine, but I was secretly glad when he wasn't selected. The assignment isn't in one of his field's typical locations, and I started kind of freaking out after he'd applied. Well, one of the selectees is now ineligible, so they've been talking to my H about it again. It would be great for his career, and I'm sure we'd be fine once I got there and got used to it, but I'm freaking the fuck out about it and kind of hope they turn him down so we can just keep trying for Germany.

I never feel guilty that my older kids are at day care full time, and I can't wait for LO to go.  We're holding off for several reasons (save money, let LO3 have some SAHM time like the older ones did), but I am looking forward to him going to day care and learning a million things I'd never teach him while I get to focus on my career and life.

  • Lo spit up on my jeans this morning and I didn't change them. I only have a limited amount of jeans that fit.

@soap1 - I find myself in the opposite boat these days. I was ready to come back to work...but the older W gets, and the "easier" she gets, the more I wish I could stay at home with her.

I guess my FFFC would be, I'm starting to become really resentful that staying at home isn't an option for us. I'm the stupid bread winner, and there is literally no way that me staying home would be remotely possible. I'm not even 100% sure I'd like it, but I hate that I don't even have the option to consider the possibility.

@codypup I think all ranges of emotions about this subject are normal.  I am certain that if I didn't have such a flexible career that lets me SAH with LO for now, I'd be resentful.  I know I'm very lucky to have options!

I totally agree about this being the best age to SAH.  They're so adorable and sweet, but they don't move around or get into everything yet.  I plan to put LO in full time care just as he starts pulling up/walking.  That's when it gets really annoying ;)

And you aren't the stupid breadwinner!  You're the awesome kickass family supporting breadwinner! :)

  • One of the best things I ever did was have laser hair removal on my arms.  I used to be super hairy and self-conscious about it, but now I just have a nice little sprinkling of arm hair and I don't worry about it anymore.

  • @CiaoMama‌ We spray our shower down with this every week and let it sit. It really really cuts through any grime. I wasn't doing it for a while when I was pregnant so stuff really built up and it handled it no problem. Just a couple tiny spots to scrub afterwards.

In regards to arm hair: it freaks me out when people don't have it! But maybe that's just because mine is blonde so it doesn't bother me?
People don't notice that I don't have any until I point it out. But if I let those puppies grow out?...you'd notice. I'm part ape. It grosses me out, made me feel SO self-conscious, so I started shaving in college and never looked back.

On that same note, I have a sideburn thingies that I absolutely detest. I think they are the main feature I'm self-conscious about. :(

  • So DH brought in a stray kitten last weekend that's been hanging around outside our house. He gave it a flea bath and everything, we got it food and a litter box. The FFC, I do not like it at all, I didn't want a cat and if DD wasn't already attached to it I'd be finding it a new home. I think I would've liked it more if it was a lazy lap cat, not a high energy needing to be trained kitten.

So....I ungrounded myself long enough to buy two Wannabubs. ;;)

@megash113‌ I want to dye my hair purple but I work with military folk so it's a no go. But if I ever get to do my photography full time....yeh....it will be in a heartbeat.

I would love pink highlights, but I don't want to give my scalp a reason to get more irritated. Instead, I paint my nails fun colors. They are currently acid green. \:D/

@Avswolf‌ I had pink highlights a few years ago. They were fun but a LOT of maintenance! Really artificial color tends to fade quickly so they turned this yucky orange color.

@Metreky21‌ have you tried head and shoulders? I used it on lo's cradle cap and it hasn't come back since.

Not head and shoulders but neutrogena tgel which is antidandruff too. Actually went and saw the pedi today for his reflux and he took a look. He thinks it's now a fungal infection so on top of anti fungal shampoo we are rubbing lotramin all over his head. Poor baby boy. :(
  • I have 5 bags of breast milk in the freezer ( I pump a whopping 2oz every night at 10) one bag maybe questionable because I had enjoyed 2 pink lemonade vodkas prior to pumping.... I'm not dumping the bags to"be safe". I feel slightly guilty but after repeated research one bag isn't going to do any long term harm and something like less than 2% gets to the milk.
  • My husband's one real chore is to do dishes. He keeps ignoring all of the hand wash stuff, and even though I'm home all day, I refuse to do them. It has now become a passive aggressive pissing contest, and we're going on four days now.
  • @innanni‌ oh helllllll to the mutha f***ing NO! .... Fx for all involved she is just one that takes a bit to get a cycle
