WWDPT- college survival kit

My cousin's graduation party is this weekend and I'm trying to come up with something other than money. I thought about a survival kit type of thing with notebooks, pens, aspirin etc.

1. Do you think this is ok. We don't have a lot of extra money right now and we have 3 graduations of very close people.
2. If yes any suggestions on what to put in it?

    Yes, I think it's cute. Roll of quarters for laundry. Pepto. Calendar/planner. That's all I can think of right now.

    also, if you can postpone the physical gift, all of the college/back to school essentials are super cheap in august and tend to come in a million colors at the big box stores.  

    $10 pink toaster?  fuck yes.

    maybe laundry stuff? or directions on how to do laundry?
    I couldn't believe how many of my dormmates had to call their moms the first time they tried to do their own laundry last year.
    Or maybe pretzels and pringles and easy quick snacks like that?
    I'm just trying to think of what I loved/needed most dorming.

    I got a laundry basket filled with stuff before I went to college.  It had a wrap towel (the kind that velcros closed), an iron, an alarm clock, flip flops, and a bunch of stuff I can't remember.  It was really cute.

    Carson Henry, born 39w, 2d, via emergency c/s due to no fetal movement and fetal distress.  Seizures, IVH grade 2, brain injury, kidney and liver damage.  Complete blood clot in the artery in his right arm.  27 days in the NICU.  Now discharged from all specialists, excepts his kidney doctor, who will monitor him indefinitely.  My tough little cookie.
