NST & growth scan & fluid check at 3:30 EST. Don't know about a check though…he said he typically doesn't do them until 39 weeks because you can obviously be at a certain dilation for weeks and he found it can be more frustrating for the mom than it's worth.
Waiting to see the dr now for my 37 week appointment. Hoping to get some answers about my itching. It has gotten worse in the last week even though my blood tests came back normal from last week, and I had ICP with my last pregnancy. Hoping we get a little bit more of a plan than draw your blood and wait.
Last ob appointment this afternoon getting all the details and preparations settled for Sunday. I can't believe how time started to fly. Good luck today ladies we're all going to meet our new additions very soon. :-)
38 week appt today at 3:30 EST. Just a regular check. Got a negative on GBS, so it's one less thing to think about. This is my first pregnancy and so far I have been blessed to be sealed up like a clam. Lol. However, I'm really hoping for something to be happening. My poor feet and back are just about done! Good luck and a great day to you all!!
Regular OB appointment at 12:20 est. Scheduling ultrasound for next week to confirm positioning and to find out if my low lying placenta has moved the .15 cm it needed to so I can have a vaginal delivery. Nothing exciting today!
Married 6/28/08, TTC 7/10, BFP 11/30/11! Charlotte Rose born on 8/4/12! TFAS 8/13, BFP 10/14/13! Lori Anne Catherine born on 6/13/14!
Had my 38w appt at 8:45 am. I'm GBS negative (yay!), fingertip dialated, and 50% effaced. I've been having some bleeding since I was checked. OB said that was normal. However, it kinda makes me not want to get checked again. I have until Tuesday to make up my mind.
BPP, NST and 38 week appointment today starting at 12:45 pst. If I haven't progressed we're scheduling an induction between 39-40 weeks..holy moly that's a week away. If I have then we will schedule it on my due date and hope the little guy will come on his own before my due date. Here's to hoping I've progressed!

@ricecakes1216 - Why are they scheduling an induction for earlier if you have not progressed? I thought they were usually less favorable.
See, that was my question. You'd think it'd be the other way around. My doctor won't let me go past my due date because of the extra fluid and size of the baby. I can't remember the exact reason for inducing me if I haven't progressed but he said he wants to see if I'll go on my own if I have. I'm really bad about asking questions so H is going with me today.
Had my weekly appt. this morning. 3cm, 20% effaced, soft, mid-station, -3. Contractions are getting stronger, so we'll see how far I get on my own. He's thinking my water might break like last time, but at least I've gotten further this time than I did with C! Appt. on Wednesday next week if I make it that far.
Just got back from my appointment. I'm GBS+ this time (I wasn't with DD) and because of my super fast labor with DD (6hrs total) they don't want me laboring at home for very long at all. That puts a bit of a wrench in my plans but oh well... Didn't do a cervix check or anything so the state of my cervix is still unknown. I know it means nothing but I'm curious to know if my body is doing anything yet. They said they'd do one next week though if I want.
Oh and there was an intern checking me today and she said "I bet he's going to be a handsome one!" I was just like "um, yeah I guess if it is a boy." The intern looked like she just put her foot in her mouth so I don't know if she spoiled the surprise for me or not.
Just wondering (and if this is more appropriate for the L&D thread, I can ask it there instead) - is it typical to get a membrane sweep done in your OB's office, and why do they do it? Is it basically to get things moving and they do it around 39 weeks? None of the OBs in my practice have mentioned this to me but I plan to ask at my appt on Monday... just curious what others' experiences are since it has come up a few times.

Had my 36 week check today. A little disappointed with all these Braxton hicks I'm "closed up tighter than Fort Knox". Really hope I don't go to 42 weeks with this one too.
Just finished my 36 wk apt, lost 3 lbs. however my last appointment was in the afternoon, I was more fully clothes, and it was a Monday, after a long weekend of eating. Calling it even and getting some chickfila!
My Dr didn't mention my GBS... Should I assume the best?
Was supposed to have 36 week appt, Dr. just cancelled due to another patient in labor:( oh, well that will be me soon hopefully. Trying to reschedule for tomorrow since we haven't done my GBS test yet. blah blah.
@babygabe614, there is a hormone released when the membranes separate from the lip of the cervix that get labor going. However, there are varying reports on how successful it is (someone said earlier it only worked in 1 of 8 women, I then read a report that said it put 30% into labor within 3 days, 50% within 5, etc) My office has mentioned it as a pre-cursor to medical induction, but they won't even offer it until after 39 weeks and it's up to me if I even want to try it. I think if I hit my 39 week appt (I'll be 39w4d), I'll let them do it, especially if these contractions keep up in the meantime.
OB appt was yesterday, but we met with a potential pediatrician this morning. We had it narrowed down to 2 offices based on location/website, and the other office doesn't even do meet&greets, so since we liked this doctor, I think we'll just go with her.
And good news...they do NOT see patients whose parents choose not to vaccinate. That definitely puts it as a win.

This but my ob starts doing them at 37 weeks because they believe doing it consistently is key, not just one time. They couldn't do mine because I wasn't dilated at all though.
@Brighteyes112 I'm sure my FTM is showing, but do you mean your OB will strip your membranes more than once? How does that work?

Ftm too so I know nothing but maybe they can do it more if you are more dilated than the time before? I dunno maybe someone can answer us. I know they'll try me again next week and hope I'm at least a fingertip.
Whelp, I'm frustrated. My OB had the same due date as me and she had her baby last night. So, my doc and I had talked about making a plan to induce at 39 weeks. Since it wasn't my normal doc, the appointment was so different than normal. I had my cervix checked. Still dilated 1 cm but 70% effaced. The nurse practitioner consulted with another doctor and now I have to have an u/s next week and then we will discuss induction. I don't mind waiting another week to induce, but having another u/s to check size when LO has measured right in the same range all along is frustrating, I just hope this baby comes before next week. I'm probably being very irrational about this, but I'm just frustrated that I've had so much cervix pain for me to not be dilated any further. Come on body, get it together!
@Lilygrace48 that site is asking me to log in... I can just Google it, really. Just wasn't aware that this was a process that could be done more than one time. Interesting!
Had a growth ultrasound and GBS test at my 36 week appointment this morning. Baby is measuring around 6 pounds. I asked my doc to check my cervix even though she wasn't planning on it. I'm 2cm which I know doesn't mean much but it was still exciting to find out something is going on down there. She said she felt baby's head move! When I reported this to DH he said we will no longer be having sex. Hoping to talk him into one last roll in the hay tonight!
Not dilated at all. Baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead, I'm actually 38+4 and he's measuring 9.5lbs. Going in for induction with cytotec on Sunday due to his size. I'm an L&D nurse & feel like the writing is on the wall but I'll give a vaginal delivery a shot. Just want him out safely.
I had my weekly appt this morning. Baby sounds good. It was a pretty uneventful appt. Viv hasn't dropped , but my doc says it's normal for STM+ to not drop until they are in labor, because their ute is all stretched out and baby has more room up there. 3 more weeks until my due date, so I'm just trying to be patient.
So fluid levels were at an 8...down from an 11 last Friday. BP was 141/90. No protein though in urine. He wants to see me Tuesday instead of a week from now. He was good on the NST though
No induction scheduled. Absolutely no progress. Cervix is high, closed and 30% effaced but extremely soft. I've been this way since 18 weeks when I was told Id be lucky to get to 36 weeks. Last week doc said we'd schedule an induction if I hadn't progressed, but wants to wait until Monday to schedule anything. Monday I get another growth ultrasound, if he's 9.5lbs we will schedule a c section late next week. The likelihood of that is high. Both H and I were big babies so genetics aren't on out side.
I was told to walk as much as possible this weekend in hopes that some action happens. So we shall see!
Had my 37w appointment today. Baby's cord is still around his neck, I have to have at least a hep lock during labor, and the nurse looked at me like I had 3 heads when I declined a cervical check. But overall it went well
Late on the reply, but our positioning u/s went great. He's confirmed head down and ready to go. They did an efw of 7lb 8 oz, but we will take that with a grain of salt. He is, however, very long - not surprising since dh is 6'4".
Very late to the thread - had a fluid measurement u/s yesterday. It is higher than normal so I have polyhydramnios officially. I have been declining checks but the Dr. I saw strongly urged me to let my OB do it at my next clinical apt. on Tues and he said he would like to know if I have made natural progression by my next fluid check. Since we don't have any other health issues he said as long as I am making some progress they will not induce me.
ricecakes1216 - good luck! One of the reasons they say you can get too much fluid is due to babies size and/or gd. Baby boy is measuring normal but he moves all the time so they told me they would get different readings if he were a little calmer but it wouldn't tip the results in a meaningful way. I don't have GD so I am hoping their measurement is a good one LOL
Re: Thursday Appts
Ultrasound at 10:20 EST to confirm positioning
hey @snuff9861 maybe i'll see you at the hospital - hope you get your sweep!
Hoping we get a little bit more of a plan than draw your blood and wait.
