Question about pregnancy books

I am pretty sure this topic has been discussed but I am on mobile and can't search.

I am looking to purchase a book on the dos and do do nots of parenting. Hopefully something that includes all topics. I have the what to expect book, does anyone know if the what to expect the first year is any good?

I am reading What to Expect The First Year now and I am really enjoying it. There is a lot of useful information that can be learned now before the baby is here.

I also have what to expect the first year and liked it. I would definitely start reading before baby arrives b/c you won't have time after. It has a whole chapter about BFing that was useful.

I read what to expect when you're expecting and liked it! I didn't read what to expect the first year but I probably should have

Its the sleep problems that we're still dealing with and DS is 18 months!

I prefer the Mayo Clinic books over the what to expect ones. There is the Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy, and the Mayo Clinic Baby's First Year. They are more no-nonsense than the what to expect books.

I have Dr. Sears' The Baby Book. Now, warning, Dr. Sears in the Attachment Parenting advocate, so I found some of his tips really daunting at first. But in the end, I think it was and still is a good resource for babies and young toddlers.

I also got a copy of the American Academy of Pediatric's Your Baby's First Year, and I found that to be a good resource.

The only one I really found helpful was The Wonder Weeks (https://www.amazon.com/The-Wonder-Weeks-Development-Predictable/dp/9491882007/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401394627&sr=8-1&keywords=The+Wonder+Weeks). It doesn't give you week-by-week development, but instead goes through the 10 mental leaps that your child will have. It helped me keep my sanity when DD was getting really fussy--generally it was because she was in a Wonder Week, and all I had to do was wait it out. I have the What to Expect the First Year, but I never even cracked it open.

I've really gotten a lot out of the Mayo Clinic book, as well as Emily Oster's Expecting Better. The second one is good if you're interested in the science behind the do's and don'ts. You may not come to the same conclusions she does about what risks you're willing to take regarding food, exercise, medicines, etc., but it's really great to learn about the reasoning behind the warnings.
