Iron?

So Will had his 1 year checkup this morning (yes, shots ON his bday!). His iron was a little low. It should be 11/35 and it was 10/32. We decided not to medicate just yet in case it's a fluke and get him retested at 15 months. In the meantime his dr recommended we increase his intake of iron rich foods. So I know eggs, beef and leafy green veggies are good but what else? I'll start cooking him eggs for breakfast, I'm thinking about making some ground beef, spinach, pasta and bean soup ( kind of a pasta fagioli) he's had it before and loved it. Maybe green smoothies? He's a little piggy and will eat anything. Any other suggestions?

William Daryll born at 9:59am on 05/29/13. Left ovary and tube removed due to peach sized tumor found during RCS. Pathology came back benign!

    3/4 of a cup of cheerios is 50% DV of iron for kids under 4. If your little one snacks on them throughout the day it adds up!
