Did you refridgerate Bravelle, Menopur etc? I'm afraid I've ruined my IVF meds?

Hello ladies I'm new to posting on the bump, but I have been lurking here for years. Probably longer than 5 years. However, I am not new to infertility, I'm seeing a reproductive immunologist and an RE. This is my first IVF and I can only afford it because I caught a clinic when they were having a special. Otherwise I would never have this chance. I am afraid my IVF meds may be ruined. I know that menopur and bravelle do not need to be refridgerate, but they can be. It gets really hot in my house, above the recommended storage temperature., so I tossed everything in the fridge. They have been in there for about a week. Today I noticed that my asparagus had little chunks of ice all over it and now I am afraid the meds were actually below the recommend storage, but I dont kmow what that Is, amd even if I did, I have no way pf knowing how cold the fridge really was - there is no themomotor. I just know it was cold enough for ice to form on the asparagus. I'm really worried about this and I can't call anyone to ask because its Memorial Day. I know this may seem like a stupid question, but has anyone had their meds outside of the suggested temperature? I have taken lovenox for ttc cycles before and I know from the pharmacist that that has to be stored correctly or it's no go. Not to hot and not too cold. Ugh I'm driving myself mad. Also I didn't even bother removing the sodium chloride you mix the bravelle and menopur from the box, I just through it all in there because it is in the same box that the menopur and bravelle come in. And the actual sodium chloride has no storage instructions at all and I can't find anything on google. Has anyone left their meds in a maybe too cold fridge and were they alright? Even if your fridge wasn't too cold, did you also have the sodium chloride in the fridge and was that alright? I'm sorry if this seems like a dumb questions, however I truly am worried! Thanks in advance.

    Hi przemosbabe,

I do not have the answer to your question. I would think that if it's not mixed you may be ok, but I think the best thing to do is call your RE office and ask them.

I also want to say I'm sorry for your struggles TTC.  The Infertility Vet page is for those who have been active on the infertility board for greater than 6 months.  You may get a better response to your question on the infertility pageGood Luck with your upcoming cycle and you are able to move onto the PAIF page soon!

  • You should give your RE or pharmacist a call, but I'd be willing to bet money that the drugs have a much lower freeze point than your asparagus does. I think there's a good chance they're fine.

  • I've been experiencing infertility for 10 years. I only stumbled across this bored googling questions about a reproductive immunology and as i have been seeing two different reproductive immunologists for two years I answered the ladies open question and asked my own. But i wont post here anymore. Thanks!
