Thursday Randoms

Anyone up for some randoms today?  I can't think of a UO at this point, but I have some randoms that are bugging me.

First, now I really want a glazed donut thanks to the UO thread. So bad.

Second, why is it so effing hard to open up the top of the hamper and put the clothes inside?  DH can spread his clothes all around the hamper, but getting them INSIDE the hamper is so challenging for him.  I don't get it.

Also, my 2 yr. old and her tantrums that last few days are making me think I'm crazy to do this again.  She has been TERRIBLE lately.  This morning there were three tantrums - one because she didn't want to get dressed, one because we wouldn't give her chocolate, and one because I didn't have any more cheerios in the car on the way to daycare.  I was really late to work.  STM+ with older kids, does it get better? When? I'm looking for some light at the end of the tunnel.

Re: Thursday Randoms

  • Going off your two year old... I have this friend, who just had a baby, and all she does is complain about being a mom. She hates it. I am a FTM and already pretty terrified, but I get an email from her every day telling me why she hates her "precious nugget" or "sweet angel" that day... She hates BF'ing, not being able to drink alcohol a lot, changing diapers, and waking up in the middle of the night to feed her constantly crying kid. FFS, get it together lady.

I've already eaten two donuts today, even though I told myself I'd only go on Fridays instead of everyday.

I told DH that I will only wash clothes that are in the hamper.  If his stuff doesn't get into the hamper, it doesn't get washed.  He's getting better about it.

My random is that I really don't want to talk to my boss today.  I slept like shit and I'm so tired I just want to get through the day so I can go home and take a nap (and it's only 8:30am).  She keeps talking to me about stupid things I don't care about (not work related).  It's getting harder to smile and make appropriate comments back to her.

Things that are difficult for my FI that drive me insane:

Putting a new roll of toilet paper on the bar. He will go all the way over to the other bathroom to get a new roll.. but then just set it on top of the old one. WHY?!

Hanging up his uniform when he gets home from work. When I get home, I take off my uniform, hang it in the front closet, and put on sweats. When he gets home, he takes off his uniform and hangs it on the back of the chair in the dining room. This drive me insane. The craziest part? He actually hangs us his PT vest in the same front closet as my uniform. Why can't he just hang up his uniform? I don't get it.

I think I'm going to try to remove the lid, see if that helps.  And DH does his own laundry, so he doesn't care where his clothes land.  Ughh.

Also @chase16 DH does the same thing with the TP roll.  Also perplexing - you put in the effort to get a new roll and put it on the back of the toilet, but you can't just replace it?

Honestly, I hated the early infant stage with DD (the stage, not the baby). For any FTM who finds herself in that position, all I can say is that even though it feels like it takes forever, they really do grow out of it eventually, and then it gets so fun! And here I am doing it again despite the rough start last time, so you know it isn't all that bad.

I'm irrationally upset that my candy crush app won't synch with FB.
I am in desperate need of those daily spins and extra lives from my friends!

  • I finally walked away from Candy Crush.  I got stuck on a level and no matter what I did, I couldn't move past it.

CC wants to keep taking my money?  Give me an option to "buy out" of a level, and I'd probably still be playing.  And giving them my $1.00 here and $1.00 there.

Nope, instead I'm either off playing "The Simpsons Tapped Out" or "Rummikub".

  • I know everyone is tired of hearing about the GD test, but I failed my one hour this morning. They told me not to fast so I didn't. Well now for my 3 hour I have to fast. I got the earliest appointment possibly. I guess this can tie into UO, but the doctor told me that for three days before the test to eat anything I wanted to. Ice cream, Debbie cakes, cookies, bread, pasta, doughnuts and potatoes. I guess being a FTM and not having any experience that took me by surprise. Honestly, I don't know how I feel about it. I have to be in the mood for sweets, so I don't eat them much, but she basically told me to devour them for the three days.

@MC03 Um....3 makes 2 look like nothing.  So, sorry.  As my mother always says "It never gets better, it just gets different."  I personally am really enjoying 3 outside of the waves of insanity that take over.  It's not all terrible all the time like a lot of people say, so when it's good it's really good.  LOL at least when it's bad for you you'll be able to drink in large quantities again.

My random is that today was the last day of preschool for DS.  He's a late October birthday so with school cutoffs he just finished his first year of preschool in the Tues/Thurs 2 year old class.  It was such a wonderful year and his fabulous teachers made a scrapbook of pictures for each child.  I just can't believe how much older he looks compared to September!

  • Closely related to the hamper and tp issue is the trash.  DH will walk into the kitchen and put an empty can/bottle on the counter but not walk the additional three feet to the trash can.  WTF?  Is it really that much harder to get the damn thing into the trash?  Or maybe it's just his excuse for not taking out the trash because then he doesn't see how full it is.

  • I just found out today that my boss decided that they were not going to get a temp or help for my maternity leave. My tiny financial team of 3 is going to be in for a whirl wind of fun. Nice way to save a buck for them I guess. I'm just afraid I am going to be walking into a shit storm when I return.

  • H is the worst at leaving his trash or drinks he's been drinking on the coffee table for hours even sometimes almost a day (he stays up later than me and in the mornings I don't go in the living room at all). Sometimes I don't clean them up at first, hoping he gets the hint. Finally after I realize he isn't going to clean them up, I clean them up. He then stops to ask me what I'm doing. I tell him cleaning up and he then tells me to leave it he was planning on getting it. Rightttt, so that's why it's been sitting there for hours or even almost a day.

  • RE: Hamper and Toilet Paper; all yes.  I told DH if it's not in the hamper, I'm not picking it up to wash it.  Yeah, so I stepped over your shorts and undies as I walked out of the bedroom.  Do.Not.Care.

Our TP holder is broken, and we have this ledge by the toilet.  Last night, I literally threw away 3 empty TP rolls into the trash because DH is too lazy to toss them into the trash can RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS FACE when he squats to poop.  Seriously?  Yes, I left 2 of them there, because I was curious about how many he'd let stack up.  Apparently, he doesn't see the rolls once they're empty?  They're just there for decoration?  He was planning some kind of random craft project?  I can't figure it out.

My doctor told me the same thing. It doesn't have to be sweets though - any carbs will do (at least 150 grams for those 3 days). I just looked at it as "studying" for the test.

My H: "Another cookie?" Me: "Yes, I am studying."  :)

  • So far today, I've had:
For breakfast: 1 Country Ham Biscuit, 2 Bo Berry Biscuits
For lunch: 2 McDonald's Cheese Burgers, 1 French Fry
For snack: Ice Cream Sandwich Bar

I'm pretty sure that's enough calories for about 4 days....  I'm so happy to be getting food down that I don't care how miserable and bloated I feel.

  • @blythemac every time you post I want Mac and cheese. Just wanted you to know.

I'm impressed that you only had 1 breakfast.  I had a smoothie, then 2 donuts, then yogurt and fruit.  This was all before 10am.  I had some amazing ice cream sandwiches from Trader Joe's over the weekend, and now I want some more.

You must live in the South. I'm from NC and LOVE BoJangles. I now live in Missouri and there isn't one. When I go home for a visit I make it a point to eat as many BoJangles biscuits as possible. They are seriously the best thing I've ever put in my mouth.
Oh yeah!  I live in NC and there is a BoJangles about 1/2 a mile from my house.  Speaking of mac and cheese, BoJangles now has mac and cheese and it is off the hook!

@flip_flops thanks for the advice.  Especially about the alcohol, once I can drink again my tolerance for BS goes way up. :)

And here's to hoping that 4 is a magical age...
