Has anyone ever even seen this in the US? I LOVE cheese and every time I go to the fancy cheese section of the grocery store for Brie, goat cheese or Gorgonzola, I always check the label. They all say made from pasteurized milk. Even the stuff from France.
I just think it's ridiculous that every single pregnancy resource scares you away from soft cheeses when apparently most of them are ok to consume.
Maybe it's different in Europe or other countries??
Re: Unpasteurized soft cheese?
I agree, the fear-mongering about soft cheese is pretty ridiculous.

It is usually small-batch, artisanal cheese. We have a local goat farm that makes goat cheeses and yogurts and sells it at our farmer's market. I'm pretty sure their products are unpasteurized, and of course I want nothing more than to eat some of their chevre!
