If you've been through this before- what do I do about my bra?

Ok. I grew out of my bras three weeks ago. I'm normally a B cup but I'm spilling out the top and sides of my bra and it's not looking good in my clothes. I'm scared to buy a new bra because I don't know when these things will stop growing- they seem to have stabalized this week but will they keep growing? or will they not grow more until milk comes in later? When do your boobs normally slow down for a little while? Should I go ahead and get a new bra or just wait? What is everyone else doing?

  • I'll buy 1 or 2 bras as needed because I would rather spend the money then be uncomfortable.  Right now I'm ok because I lost a bit of weight before I became pregnant so my bras were a little too big to begin with.  I also have some wireless bras that I bought last time around that I wear around the house.

  • I probably have at least 2-3 different sizes from my last pregnancy. I also went the cheap route as I really didn't need them to last long.

  • Ugh, I had something all types up and The Bump ate it...

Here we go again. I've seen suggestions that you just invest in a good nursing bra now, if your boobs have outgrown your regular bras. They tend to have some flexibility in them because of how your boobs change size during the day with breastfeeding/pumping. I don't know how cute or supportive or obvious they are, but maybe it's something to look into?

  • I grew a cup size every trimester last time around. I couldn't find my size very easily in the stores so I just ordered 2 or so from amazon every time I needed a new size. It sucked cost wise but it was better than spilling out. I found a few that were around $25 each so not too terribly bad.

  • I didn't have that problem until the end of my pregnancy last year. When it was time for me to buy new bras, I went ahead and just bought nursing bras. They fit then and also when my milk came in. I lost all of my pregnancy/nursing boobs and then some once I weaned.

I went up a full cup size and that was it, so I didn't have the worst time with is.  I started with 2 bras the next size up & figured I'd go from there . . . I guess I was lucky, my girls stopped growing there.

BUT - these little bra extender thingies were a life saver!  While I didn't go up more than a cup size, everything pushed up and my ribcage expanded or something - everything was super tight until I started using them.  My sister told me that she got and used those later in her pregnancy when she was having really bad heartburn & they helped with that, too!
Myles was so pumped about the baby . . . until he figured out he'd have to share all his toys!!!

I'd just go to Target and buy a couple of cheap ones. I gotta have support.

  • I've grown out of mine too. I bought one comfy molded one, otherwise hello sports bras!
I wish I was comfortable enough to wear sports bras to work!! They are the first thing I put on when I get home. Love them!

  • @YaMrWhite I do the exact same thing...I come home from work and head straight to the bedroom and put on my sports bra. None of mine would look right in work clothes though...
