Anyone else with placenta previa bleeding?

Hi everyone, my name is Kristina. I'm 17 weeks with di/di twin girls and had some bleeding yesterday which we now know is due to placenta previa. The girls looked fine on US thank goodness! The doctor put me on 48 hours of bedrest and then after that no exercise, pelvic rest, and no travel. Luckily I have a sedentary job so he says I can still work for now unless I keep getting more bleeds. Anyone else in a similar boat?

I had placenta previa with my first pregnancy (not happy outcome) and I found Tori Spellings most recent book helpful bc she talks about previa quite a bit. I'm not a huge fan of hers but the book was ok! Good luck!!

I had pp at the beginning of my pregnancy, not a whole lot, but from about week 8 to week 18, I would have about a quarter sized amount each day, throughout the day when I wiped. By 20 weeks they showed my pp was gone

I am 31 wks. I had small bleeds until I was 20 wks and found out I have complete pp. I quit exercising and am on pelvic rest and have had no other bleeds thus far. Listen to what your doctor says, and listen to your body!

I see there was an update and wanted to know id you could give me some advice. I went to ER last night for bleeding. I'm 11 weeks and the baby was measuring great and hb was 160. They are saying i have a small/mod SCH and the placenta is low lying....wondering if this means i could have PP later or the risk of losing this baby. Any thoughts are very appreciated. Thank you

@lainaweb33- I'm sorry you are going through this. Any bleeding in pregnancy is really scary. I'm pretty sure the SCH and the low-lying placenta are unrelated things. I've seen a lot of woman on these boards with SCH that had some bleeding but nothing that turned into a threatened pregnancy. Also I don't believe that a low lying placenta at 11 weeks is too concerning - from what I understand the placenta can only "move" (it doesn't really move, just moves relative to the cervix as the uterus grows) up. So a complete pp can turn into a marginal pp can turn into a low lying placenta which can turn into a normally located placenta. I was lucky - my CPP was dx'd at 17 weeks after a bleed, at 21 weeks was still complete and then at 24 weeks was called low lying. I haven't had any bleeding since about 19 weeks (knock on wood) and the doctor has lifted most of my restrictions.

Obviously check with your doctor about all of the above - this is just information I've gathered from my experiences. Best of luck to you!

I had PP with my second pregnancy almost 5 years ago. It was marginal, but still was in/out of hospital 7 times with 3 admissions. They told me at 35 weeks that it had resolved, but at 37 weeks I had bleeding again with water breaking, and emergency c-section. The scary part is that everyone was shocked I was still a significant pre via. I just found out I am pregnant again, but terrified to have the same problem. I did get a healthy baby girl, just scary for me. The baby was always fine!!!

Hi! Low lying placenta here, on bed rest for the past 3 weeks. Now at 16 weeks. Just hoping it moves up n bleeding stops! Sending positive thoughts your way!
