Entering another cycle!

Well, it's now been over a year since my last full IVF cycle, which I thought was really my LAST IVF. I remember during my fourth IVF thinking all the needles, pain & discomfort, exhaustion, surgeries & procedures, and missing out on real life were becoming normal. This stuff shouldn't be normal for anyone! But now, after a year, I am scared witless about my upcoming cycle! I will have to re-train myself to get in the IVF mode, and I have to learn how to give myself new injections. This time, I will be on Menopur & either Gonal F or Follistim. I don't know which. My RE didn't have a preference, and I just sent a request to the OOP Meds donation director. Hopefully she'll have a match for me on one or the other. I still have six vials of Bravelle left over from my last cycle, but the expiration date on them is February 2014. I would have taken them anyway, but my RE wants to switch me off of the Bravelle. Oh well. I don't think I can donate expired meds, but if any of you ladies are interested, PM me. I am so not mentally ready for this. I wish I could close my eyes and sleep through it all for the next month. Then, when I wake up, I'd be pregnant with a healthy baby who finally wants to hang out in my uterus for nine months! Ha! Well, a girl can wish...

I am still in the opposite boat right now. I only feel normal when I am cycling, I am not good at regular non-infertility life. Since we probably won't cycle again until November/December, I have a feeling that it will be a long 6 months.

I did menopur and follistim for all 3 of my fresh IVFs, they are both easy (especially the follistim) and you will do great! I hope this change in meds finally brings you your take home baby!

I hope this cycle is your last! I did menopur and follistim for both of my cycles and they are pretty easy. Menopur burns a little the first couple of times, but them you get used to it. Good luck!

Best of luck! Hopefully this cycle and the changes works! For me, I disliked Menopur and was glad to get not use it this past cycle. Though, I just found out with this past cycle at my new RE (and maybe I've been out of the loop with this one....) that you can put all your meds into your Menopur so you only take one shot. I would ask if you can do that.

Good luck! I hope this is your cycle! I agree with @leggyjeggy and say to mix everything together if you can. I usually take Menopur IM because the bruising/burning is too much- and there were some shots I had to take sub-q.

My doc had me mix the Follistim into the Menopur like @LeggyJeggy‌ said. It felt a little bit like science lab at first, but you'll get the hang of it in no time. I hope this cocktail does the trick!!

Good luck!!! I hope this will be your last and most successful IVF cycle! I agree it has been a long road do you and never thought you would still be here but embrace it and once you start back up it will all come rushing back to you and like riding a bike!!

Yay! Good luck to you! I am a little bit jealous though I'd love to be trying again. I did the med combo last time and it was very easy, you won't have any trouble. I donated the last of my meds already, but I wish I could've helped out there. How were your cd3 numbers this month? Looking good? Any new twists they are adding in for you?

Best of luck! Oopmeds was a huge blessing for me. My 2nd RE had a preference for gonal F and Follostim as well. I like to think it helped improve my cycles. Rooting for you all the way!

Yes! If everything goes as planned (which it inevitably won't) my ER would be 6/24! It is a weird relief that you will be doing this the same time as me. FX for us both!

@Twinkie0612, that's how I was my last cycle. It was like I could do that stuff in my sleep! But I was just a shadow of my usual self. This process shouldn't have to be "normal" for anyone. I'm glad you're handling it all well, but I hope you are able to enjoy this Summer off and feel the freedom of NOT dealing with IVF crap. Thanks for the support... I am worried about properly measuring the Follistim. Bravelle was so easy to mix with the Menopur. Well, like everything else, I guess I'll get used to it!

@J&D2007, I wish you were cycling, too, my fellow Michigander! These were my numbers:
Estradial: 38.37
Progesterone: 1.35
FSH: 12.22
LH: 9.46

I honestly don't really know what all of that means. You'd think I would by now, right? Well, it's just too much for my exhausted brain. I only know that my FSH is high. But I'm OLD! There are some changes. I started my new supplement cocktail last month. I will be using Follistim instead of Bravelle. She's adding in a few new things: Metrogel prior to transfer, and Medrol. Instead of Crinone I will be using Endometrin. And, if I have any embryos, we will be doing a 3 day transfer of anything that looks remotely viable. So, I don't know if that's enough, but it's all I've got at this point. Thanks for always looking out for me!

Numbers are looking pretty good! I love the 3 day transfer too. I really wish I was cycling, too. DH will not go for it. I will send you good vibes everyday as you pass through on your way to the RE:-). I think you pass through my town:-). Keep us updated!

Yay! I'm excited to have a cycle buddy. We are doing embryo banking so we freeze at 2pn stage. Mixing the follistim and menopur is a breeze. Don't let it stress you. I hope this is it for both of us!

That's still not too bad actually!! Mine is usually around 12 at 32!
