We have a signed settlement agreement! They agree not to move M more than one grade a year without our consent and to always treat him as the age on his birth certificate!

I know we won, for all intents and purposes, but they made every step so hard, right down to arguing about the language in the agreement, that it just doesn't feel like a win. I'm just so glad it's over. The only thing left is for the judge to enter it as a court order, so that we will be able to enforce it if they ever violate the terms.

Almost a whole year and unspeakable amounts of money have been devoted to fighting this. I'm so glad it's done. Now we have two IEP meetings to look forward to at the end of this month. Yippie! 8-|

I want to thank you all for all your support throughout the last year. I often felt like I was in the twilight zone, and the validation I received from you all really helped me push on when things seemed insurmountable.

Congratulations! This is why you are M's parents...your determination to do what is right for him regardless of the pushback. Hopefully they honor their word and you can focus on more fun parts of parenting!

Oh! I'm so happy to read this! I know it's been a huge struggle and one you should not have had to face. It is rather astonishing to me that they were willing to fight so hard. I hope smoother seas are ahead for your family!
