How many times a day does lo get breast milk? Are you planning on weaning at 1? What will you do?

My lo is 4 x a day. Morning, night and after each nap. I'm planning next month to just do morning and night. Not sure what to supplement for after naps or if he eve needs milk really more than once after a nap. He's had issues with dairy so not sure how he will handle cows milk. Would love to know your plans.

This lo loves his milk so much. I think it will be hard on him.

Edited- just saw a lot on the topic on the board. Sorry to be repetitive.

  • @nykkolaughs‌ I'm not sure we are ready either. I'm just starting to think about it.

@abbity‌ thanks!!! I have to say I've been super lucky. It was always easy. He wanted to eat from the second he came out.
  • I dropped the after second nap feeding first because it was so close to dinner anyways. I walk down to the kitchen with her and offer a sippy and she will usually drink from it. I'm going to cut out the after morning nap this week, but my plans are to continue doing morning and night for a little longer, not sure how long.

I don't get the supplementing with cow's milk thing after one year.  If they don't need supplementation than they don't need supplementation, regardless of the species.  So if they don't need our milk, why would I give my baby the milk from another species (especially one that needs to gain many more pounds then he/she does in the first year of life).  With that said, I am trying to get LO down to 4 nursings a day because I hate pumping, but if she doesn't need my milk then she definitely doesn't need another animal's milk.  Just sayin'...

My LO gets 2 bottles after naps at daycare and on the weekends she hasn't been interested in nursing no matter how hard I try. I stopped pumping at work last week bc I wasn't getting much anymore. I'll stick with night and morning feedings as long as I can and at 12m use WCM for the feedings she was getting a bottle. I he a 3 yr old and I don't recall how Her feedings changed at 12m, but milk was more of a drink with a meal than a "feeding" shortly after changing to sippy cups.
