Talk to me about clomid

I start tonight, and I am super nervous about this cycle for some reason.  In the past we'e done femara + progeterone, just progesterone, and an IUI with just progesterone.  But this is my first clomid cycle.  

Everyone talks about how crazy clomid makes you.  I'd love to hear about your experiances with clomid, or even better, if you have taken femara and clomid, how you think they compare!

    I haven't taken femara. As far as clomid though I have good and bad news for you. The good news is the first time I took it my side effects were minimal. Some hot flashes and some pain when I ovulated. Bad news: clomid builds on itself. After several months I was a ragging bitch. Completely unable to control my emotions.

    Also take it at night. After several months on it I had terrible headaches and nausea. But once I started taking it before bed it wasn't as bad.

    Thank you!  I thought I remembered seeing a rec to take it at night, but I couldn't remember.  What dose were you on?  I'm starting at 100mg CD 3-7

    I was only 50. Cd5-10. I wish my re did 3-7. I ovulate a lot later than I normally do when I take clomid and I think it would be better egg quality and longer luteal phase if I took it earlier.

    They told me they do CD 3-7 for anyone who has a cycle less than 28 days.  Mine last cycle was 22.  :/  I'm paranoid about ovulating too early.

    I've done both. Clomid gave me rage, migraines and hot flashes. Femara, just hot flashes. But hey, if it works, it's worth it! FX and good luck!

    Thanks!  I don't remember hot flashes. But I do remember crying at the drop of a hat.  We'll see what this week brings.  At least I'm not benched anymore, right?
