Wine Club....

Hi, Ladies-

I hope this is bump approved.... I've been a member of a wine club in my neighborhood with 20 friends (all who are a bit older)...and I finally have our first baby on the way! Well, I'm not enjoying the wine...but I've been attending our events each month! I just drink my diet Ginger Ale and Water and have a ball!

However, MY turn to host is coming up in July...and I'm in panic mode. I need a fun theme! Any ideas?

PS - we usually go ALL out - dress up, sit down dinner... lighter fare, but always gourmet!

I worked for an opera company for awhile and planned an event that paired an aria (song) from different operas and different countries with a wine from that region. Example, a song from a Puccini opera would go with an Italian wine and food course.
This may be more complex than you want, but the concept could be changed with popular music from different regions, etc. Kind of an "around the world" concept.

It's Bastille day on July 14 so that could be a fun theme. French food and wine... yum! I am doing up to one glass per day of wine but don't have a wine club. We need to switch places!

I'm in a wine club too! We haven't met the last couple of months though. I take a sip of the wines that look pretty special. Ours are a little different-- they have a theme but are completely potluck. My favorite theme is pairings. One popular theme we did was Tuscan nights. Another good night was a Down Under theme-- wines and foods from Australia and New Zealand.
