Spotting during second trimester with twins

Hello, I'm a bit worried because I am 17 weeks pregnant with mo/di ID girls and this morning I wiped and saw a few streaks/spots of bright red blood. I wiped a few more times and continued to see it slightly but now it is gone. Anyone have experience with this? I'm going to keep an eye out and if it continues call the doctor.

    I had spotting, but at 9 weeks. I would call just to be safe and put your mind at ease. If something is going on, maybe early intervention will help. Please keep us updated!

    I agree- it may be nothing but you should call and get it checked out.

    I had spotting right around 17 weeks with my di/di boys.  It was brown but lasted a couple of days.  My dr wasn't worried because it stayed brown, but I ended up going in to l&d to get checked out.  Everything was fine, but I'm glad I went in.  It was really good to have the reassurance.

    I had bright red gush of blood at 18w and brown spotting at 23.

    Just made it to 31 weeks :) try not to worry and check with your doctor as you said if it continues or get worse.

    At 26 weeks I had bright red spotting. I called and the on call OB said to lay on my left side and drink plenty of water and if it got worse or I had contractions to go to L&D. After a few hours of rest it completely stopped and all has been fine. If you start spotting again or have any unusual discomfort, then definitely call your OB. FX all is well!

    To see any blood in pregnancy is terrifying. I have had two major bleeds and thankfully all is well. I sure everything will be fine but call your doctor to be sure and for piece of mind.

    I had a tiny bit of bright red spotting in my 2nd tri. I was worried so I went in to see my OB and she checked me out and everything was fine and I haven't had any since. Better to go in and get checked just to be 100% sure.

    If it was red blood and enough that it dripped on a pad or your underwear more than streaking I would get it checked out. It could be as simple as a cervix that got nicked somehow (sex?), or has a polyp on it that's irritated - or could be a sign of a previa or the cervix is Doing something. I would ask for an ultrasound though to check the cervix and where the placentas are.

    The bleed I had last week (bright red and lasted 6 hours before slowing considerably), was attributed to my cervix shortening and opening a bit. If it stopped, that's a great sign, but you want to know if your cervix is doing anything.....

    Partner IVF #1b - February 2014 - H's eggs, my Ute - ER February 4 (10 retrieved, 3 fertilized), Transfer Feb 7 of one Grade 1 and one Grade 2 day 3 embryos.  1 - Day 3, Grade 1 frosty saved.   BFP - 6dp3dt via FRER, Beta #1 - 110, Beta #2 175, Beta #3 - 348, Beta #4 - 2222!, Beta #5 - 4255.  Ultrasound (6w1d) - 2 heartbearts!  

    We lost our beautiful Twin baby girls on June 18, 2014.  Tavin Sara and Casey Elizabeth were born at 21 weeks gestation and were absolutely beautiful, precious, amazing babies.  We miss our daughters every day and love them with all our hearts.

    Thank you all for your responses! The spotting has not come back since discovering it this morning upon waking up. I have had a bit of cramping but nothing abnormal from every day pregnancy cramping. It really wasn't much blood at all when I wiped but of course any amount is scary. I'm going to call my OB now since I'm back at home from class and see what they say.

    I called the office and they said that if it's enough bleeding to fill a pad or if I'm having severe cramping to call them to come in or go to the ER. Basically what you guys were saying. I would like to have an U/S to check up on them but my next appointment is in 5 days on Monday so I guess I will wait until then. Unless of course I start bleeding again and it's worse. Also, like someone mentioned I did have intercourse 2 days ago which could cause some bleeding, I just thought it would be soon afterwards not days later.

    I am such a worry wart especially since I don't feel them moving very much lately when I started feeling taps and pokes a few weeks back pretty consistently (wasn't gas). But thanks again everyone for all your responses and concerns!
