It's not something I would choose for our daughter but I certainly don't hate it. My cousin's name is Sydney.

I think Sydney is very cute for a girl. I actually know 2 little girls with that name...so, that being said, she probably will be one of a few in her class once she's in school.
My niece's name is Sydnee Hope. Between you and me, I prefer your spelling - but I love the name, and the 2 e's seems natural to me now that I'm used to it.
I love the name Sydney. It's actually what we plan on using if our bean is a girl. I lived in Sydney and it's my favorite place in the world, so I've wanted to use the name for a long time. We aren't sure of a middle name yet, but it will be a family name, maybe Elizabeth.
just throwing this out there-- i had a sydney in my class for a couple of years and NONE of the other kids ever got her name right. they all called her "cindy" and eventually that's what she stared calling herself too. it can just be a hard name for kids to pronounce, i guess.
I think it's pretty, but personally would only use it if I had some connection to Australia.
That's wierd to me. I mean I know that Sydney is in Australia and all, but I think it's a common enough name that the mind doesn't automatically go there when the name is mentioned...JMO though.
Love it! I have a Sydney in my class and she is a sweetheart. Someone mentioned that their students had a hard time with it... not the case in my class (2nd grade).
yes, love it! We named our beloved dog Sydney (i know, it's not really a dog name) but if we had a daughter before our pup, I would have named her sydney.

Re: Do you like the name Sydney
I like it. but I'm biased.
My DH first name is Sidney, and we already put Sydney on our list for a girl.
