The advice I got over on the BFing board was to pump after the first morning feeding *when the sun is up, as this is usually when you have the most milk. Or you can pump one side while LO feeds off the other. And yes, you will need to pump whenever LO gets a bottle, otherwise it will mess with your supply. So in reality it's not much of a break.

Your pumping session can replace your nursing session. So yes, you will pump when DH gives a bottle. Not much of a break in reality! To get the initial breastmilk for the first bottle, you can feed one side and pump the other at the first am session.

This. If you do football hold, you can pump one breast while LO nurses from the other. Depending on how much your LO likes to eat, this might be the best option since your LO will stimulate better let-downs than a pump, and you'll be able to pump more milk. With DS, I pumped about an hour after his feeding to build a stash. Mornings are definitely best, or if your LO goes a long stretch without eating at any point in the day or night, a pump session in between may yield more milk.
Re: Pumping question
Kellymom also has good links.
Hope this helps!
