Reschedule U/S?

Hi ladies!

I finally called my doctor yesterday to schedule my first appointment. With my last DD, they (same Dr.) wanted to see me at 8 weeks for my first u/s. So when I called yesterday they asked for the first day of my LMP and I told them I have long cycles and gave my O date, but she still wanted LMP date and scheduled my u/s based on that...I will be 6w 5d according to O date. Would you call back and insist on a later date? I can't go the following week because we'll be on vacation with family. I would actually love to know something before we go so we can share the news, but I worry it will be to early to see much and we'll make me more anxious. Has anyone has an u/s that early and been able to see anything? WWYD?

Thanks!

What would you be according to LMP? is it that big of a difference? I would just go and not sweat it.

  • I went in at what I believe was 6w5d based off of OPKs, I saw an itty bitty thing with a tiny flicker of a heart beat. It was pretty exciting, but given their equipment and how early I was they couldn't determine the exact gestational age, so I'm going to go to an imagining center next week and I get to see my itty bitty again!

  • you *should* see a baby(well it looks more like a grain of rice) and likely even a heart beat by 6 weeks and 5 days.

  • Thanks ladies! I meant to say that O was on CD 27, so it definitely makes a difference in calculating EDD.
  • i went in at 6w4d with DS because of bleeding and he was there with his little flicker HB going.  it's not *always* all going like that at that point, but there should be something to see with a HB at that point, it just might not be up to speed yet.  if they don't see what they want to see, they'll have you come in again in another week or two.  try not to sweat it too much.
