Colouring?

If your LO doesnt already, when are you going to let them try out crayons? Or if you have older ones when did they start colouring?

Mine always seems interested in drawing/playing with crayons and we just started letting her play/draw with them. She seems to love it when shes not trying to eat them.

    We have dabbled in finger paint- but he still just wants to eat crayons.

    We tried in a restaurant last week. Definitely thought the crayons were food

    I think DS was well over a year old before he could color without just eating the crayons. Maybe 16+ months? I did edible finger paint with him around a year but DD is still too young for that

    I can't even imagine.  Does anyone have babies here that are "already" coloring?  

    I gave LO a marker to "sign" a card for mother's day (for MIL), and I couldn't hardly get him interested in putting the correct end vaguely near the card.  

    Coloring tools (markers/crayons etc) definitely = awesome nomming opportunities.

    I'm not sure when we will try but he's nowhere near ready for that he still eats his books!

    Definitely not. DD is almost 11 months and does not have the motor skills to hold a crayon nor does she even come close to understanding the concept of putting it to paper.
