NOT bleeding after only 5 days

I know it's not actually possible to be healed well enough to stop bleeding after only 5 days. I know I'm likely dealing with a clot, and small clots aren't dangerous. But does anyone know at what point they become an issue? I'm not worried yet and don't feel the need to bug my nurse about it since it hasn't been even 24 hrs yet since I last saw blood, but does anyone know if/when NOT bleeding becomes a warning sign? I'm not even having the pale yellow or pink discharge. Nothing at all.

Re: NOT bleeding after only 5 days

  • Did you have a C/S? With my first I had a section and only bled for a few days.

@MissLadyTay Yes, but I had a c-section last time too and bled for 7 weeks so stopping after only 5 days this time seems odd.

@anniemore Ugh...the thought of massaging my stomach makes me ache all over! lol I'm breastfeeding and feeling lots of pretty intense cramping every time I put DD to the breast, so my uterus should be getting plenty of stimulation. I guess I will call tomorrow. Thanks.

I've been told that with a c-section the amount of bleeding can vary depending on who did the procedure. I guess different docs leave different amounts of tissue in the uterus, which affects how long you will bleed. I don't know how accurate this is and I don't remember where I saw that info.

  • I had a csection with DD1 and I didn't bleed much more than a week. I think I wore pads for 2 days after getting home from the hospital then switched to panty liners. They do suction most of the tissue out of your uterus during the csection so I wouldn't expect a ton of bleeding.

  • With this csection I only bled for 1.5 weeks. With my first one I bled for 10 weeks. I think it must vary on how the procedure is done.

I didn't have a c/s but this recovery has been way different than my first. Not even 1/4 the amount of bleeding and I feel like things down there have just plain bounced back faster.
With that said, I am always in the call if you're concerned camp.

It was just a little clot. I passed it an hour ago and am bleeding again, though definitely not as much as I did after I had DS. This recovery has been so much faster and easier!

I had a csection and bled for less than a week. I've had a few random days after that of bleeding, usually when I did too much the day before.

    This.
And I stopped bleeding at the end if day 5. On the afternoon of day 6, it started again. Since then, I have in and off days. The red blood has finally turned to brown for the most part - unless I do to much, then it's goes back to red.

  • I've been on and off for a week and the first 3 days I had no bleeding at all.
