1st Birthday Theme/Color Scheme

I know we have discussed it before, but now that we are even closer to the big days...More of us are planning some sort of gathering...So lets share the details again...maybe we can inspire others...

After much debate, we have decided to give LO a 1st birthday party. We will be at an outdoor venue with at least 50pl. Its at a local park/zoo, so entertainment is done, plus we snagged the pavilion by the playground! Our theme...is Owls....I am hoping to do pink and brown...I am just starting to get decoration ideas...

That sounds cute! We're doing a small party with family and close friends. It will be the Saturday after his birthday... That's all the deets I have as of now. I think I'm in denial that I'll have a 1 yr old soon. Mama's not ready for that!

After too much time spent on Pinterest searching ideas, we (I) decided on a Cheerios theme. It will be at my parents house. Great backyard, patio and deck. Probably 50-ish people. Family and friends. I'm entertaining the idea of a bounce house. Not sure I want to mess with it though for less than 10 kids.
Here's the Pinterest ideas I hope to replicate. :D

Were doing a circus theme! I have a whole Pinterest page full of ideas! I'm guessing 50-60 people. It'll be at our house, the age range will vary so were doing different games for fun. Food will be simple, circus like- hot dogs pizza popcorn cotton candy etc

You are my sunshine theme at our house.
LOVE this - and sometimes wish I went with it too.  Its always my go to song when DD needs some help sleeping.  :-)

Dinosaur theme with blue, orange, and lime green as colors. It's at our place, a BBQ with 20-30 people if we stick to close friends and family. I've started buying things for the fossil dig while they're in season (little shovels, small plastic pool, sand), and I've been picking up dollar store/sale dinosaur stuff as I find it. I also have the cake planned out, naturally. ;)

We are doing teal/ purple under the sea/ little mermaid 1st bday. We will be doing it at the ILS. It will be a pool party and the taco lady will be catering. I'm thinking roughly 40 people.

We are likely going with a Sesame Street theme with a focus on Elmo and/or Cookie Monster. L LOVES them. If he is having a tantrum, all we have to do is pull up Elmo's song, or C is for Cookies, and he immediately calms; it's adorable.

We're having the party the day after his birthday at my parent's house since they have an in-ground pool and a large backyard. I think we will end up in the 50+ range for guests. I'm not planning any other entertainment than the pool, especially since there isn't really anyone else L's age.
We did Elmo for DS1's 1st birthday because he was the same - loved the YouTube Sesame Street videos! I made these cupcakes and they were a hit.

I have no idea on our theme. With DS1 he had already shown a preference for Elmo at this point so a theme was easy. This one hasn't shown a real preference for anything besides his brother and water. Maybe we do a fish theme? We are definitely having a backyard party and catering with one of those 6 foot burritos, rice/beans, chips/guac, & margaritas. Might get a bouncy house for the big kids.

Ninja theme, black, white, and red, and being held at our clubhouse. We'll probably have between 50-80 people. Family alone is 55.

Those are SO cute! I'm thinking of going the cupcake route myself. I saw one on pinterest where they were all put
together to make elmo's face, so I might even try something like that.

They were really easy. Marshmallows for the eyes, orange peanut m&m for the nose, and half an Oreo for the mouth. The hardest part is just finding the right tip to for your pastry bag to make the fur.

Cowboy theme with red/blue bandanna and cow print accents.  DS was given a pair of size 4 cowboy boots by a relative of DH's when he was born, so he'll be wearing them (at least for a little bit) on his birthday and for his 1 year photo shoot.

Curious George (book, not cartoon) complete with banana split bar! It'll just be at our house. I'm guesstimating about 30 people give or take. I'm making a smash cake but will do cupcakes (ordered) for everyone else.

We're going with rubber duckies.. I think. We haven't actually ordered anything yet though. Not a DIY person, that's for sure. I wanted to do sesame street, but LO really isn't that into it yet. Maybe next year.

An Uno theme here - but other than making a secret board on pinterest, I haven't done much planning. LO was slated to be a late August baby, but ended up being an early September one, so I have some time.

Can I fly out and join in on the 6 foot burrito fun? I'll bring D a nice gift!

Yes!! You're on the list. We've done it for all of G's parties too.. Really budget friendly and feeds lots of people. Plus it's delicious obviously. Giant burrito.. Where can you go wrong?

We are doing a popeye the sailor man theme. Pinterest is great for finding ideas but actually getting my bum in gear is another thing. We are having it at our house and inviting our entire family plus friends which will be well over 100 ppl. I'm thinking of having 2 different times on the invite like family earlier in the day and friends later... This way we won't be too crowded in our backyard/house.

I was thinking of having a bubble machine and a table covered in paper for kids to draw on. I've tossed around the idea of a bounce house but vetoing it bc of space and I don't want to referrer whose turn it is to go in (older vs younger kids) I'm thinking of having cutouts of popeye and a backdrop for a "photo booth" I am pretty excited about this! :)

Another one for UNO theme! I've already ordered her bow, and leggings (though she may not wear them depending on the heat). Party will be inside/outside/covered deck at my parents house. Guest list is around 120 (a circus, I know). We'll be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers, cupcakes for everyone (LO will have smash cake at her photo shoot). I'll be setting up a photo booth, and we're not positive on activities yet. My parents have playground equiptment at their house already (slide, merry-go-round, swings, seesaw), plus croquet, badmitton, horseshoes, etc.
I was debating a pinata as well, but we may end up passing on that...I don't think we'll have enough kids interested in it.UNO first birthday. <img class=" />

We're doing a picnic theme at our house. It'll be the same crowd as her baptism, so 20 - 25 I think?

We got hell for not including certain people in DH's family, and I'm sure it will happen again, but I can only fit so many people at my house. I'm probably getting it catered, but will make some things as well.
