Life jacket

So I am looking for recommendations for an infant life jacket. We will need it for the boat. I bought a cheap one thinking they were all pretty much the same and the way the front is cut seems like it is choking DS. He freaked out and looked so uncomfortable the second I put it on him. TIA!

No real advice as we don't have one yet. IL's have a lake, so we need to get one. The PuddleDucks brand comes highly recommended by several people I've asked. It is a ring that goes around LO's chest and connected to 2 arm rings that also float (think water wings). I haven't checked out the age/weight requirements yet though. But that's where I am starting.

We have this one. The V neck gives him room around his neck so he doesn't freak out. We took him into to REI to try it on before buying it from Amazon.

They sound like puddle jumpers which meant for older children, they do not have the head "pillow" that the PP mentioned on the top to flip baby over face up.  The child needs to be able to activly keep their head above water by themselves.  Not sure what weight puddle ducks start at but the puddle jumpers start at 30 pounds (from what I've seen).  They are coast guard approved, but they are type 3 vs the infant one above that is type 2.
