With my first I gained 40 lbs, I'm only 5'2 so it was a significant amount of weight. I did get quite puffy so I'm wondering if some of it was water retention and unavoidable. I wasn't as active as I would have liked to been and developed quite the sweet tooth. I know 40lbs isn't a ton of weight but it was hard on my little frame and my feet hurt so much from the extra wight. My question is have you been successful in not gaining as much weight in subsequent pregnancies and did you do anything differently?

I just made sure that I bought fruits, veggies, yogurt, cheese sticks...to have on hand. I'm not one that buys junk food (except ice cream and popcorn) so that wasn't a problem for me. I tried to use the treadmill and elliptical fairly regularly also.

This time I'm not leaving without you.
In terms of eating, I've pretty much been eating what I want but trying to eat plenty of protein, fruits, and veggies, and I will continue to eat this way until my doctor tells me otherwise.
