Moms who weaned to start ttc again...

How long after you weaned did you stop lactating?  I know this isn't super specific to 2IF, but I like you guys the best.  

I was putting off treatments till DS was completely weaned and I FINALLY get to go see my new RE tomorrow.  I weaned DS about two months ago, but I still lactate a little bit.  Not to be too tmi, but DH inadvertently noticed this the other day and said it tastes gross.  I'm not concerned about starting treatments while lactating since I'm not feeding it to my little guy, but I wonder if it is still messing with my hormones.  Also, I'm just kind of curious if it's normal to still have some milk when I haven't nursed in about two months.  And, it used to be sweet, but now apparently it tastes like sweat and BO (thanks, dear, way to make a girl feel great).

Ready to start ttc #2 April 2013, but plan to be an extended BF'er
Back on metformin Aug 2013
Restart herbal infusions Sept 2013 - currently drinking nettle, oatstraw, and red raspberry leaf
DS weaned in April 2014
Taking a break from herbs and just riding the healthy train.  
Planning medicated cycle end of summer.  FX I get KU before then!!!

    I weened my DD 1.5 years ago and if I squeeze my breasts I can still get a few drops out. My 2 older sisters and 2 older sisters in law who have babies say that normal and it can take a few years. I'm gonna say it took 4-6 months before I felt "dried up" Good luck with the new RE tomorrow! That's exciting (or at least as exciting as anything gets with IF) .

    I'm probably giggling a little too much at this. My DH said the same thing.

    (Edited b/c DD is 2.5, I did not wean her 2.5 years ago...I can not brain today, I have the dumb)

    Milk can stick around in droplets like up to a year- so don't stress about that! I weaned almost a year ago and every once in a while still have. Drop or so. I understand it is the body's way of keeping it available in case of famine or what not.

    Oh, good!  I'm glad I'm not the only one.  I thought it was totally strange because I've only ever heard women complain of drying up before they are ready to wean, I didn't realize the milk could stick around for a while.

    Oh yeah, totally normal (either way really, boobs are finicky and magical, the boys were right- don't tell them!!!)

    Definitely over a year for me.
    Me: 32, DH: 33
    DS #1: April 2010
    DS #2: July 2015 (preemie born at 31 weeks) - our little miracle conceived through ART - unexplained secondary infertility/adenomyosis
