  Not trying to be bitchy, but as a fellow healthcare employee (though I have NO medical expertise, I've worked in reception for our Internal Medicine department and have since moved on to management), I know my nurses/physicians would never give advice to someone they hadn't seen.  They would either have them come into clinic, or advise them to go to the ER if we couldn't fit them in.

  
  

   I realize you're just looking for what feels like an easy "yes or no" - and maybe this is (again, I'm not a doctor, so I've no clue), but I would suggest seeing if your insurance has a nurse's line you can call (many do, I would assume they don't want to have to pay the ER either if they don't have to), and they can ask questions and assess whether or not he's really at risk.

  
  

  As a wife, I totally get it, you just want to make sure he's okay  - my H has worked in construction too, and doesn't always wear his PPE, and it totally drives me nuts!!!!  (Then again, when he doesn't wear sunscreen, it drives me nuts too.  But c'mon, guys, be safe!)

  Not bitchy at all. I wasn't looking for medical diagnosis so much as weather its some that's seen in the ER. I've seen plenty of "why would you go to the er for that?" Posts out here which is why I asked
  
  I could be wrong as I'm not medical professional but it seems pretty similar to someone asking if the ER can do anything for their bleeding? No? If the er can't do anything I don't want to go. Its not even the copay we don't have one with our insurance just hate that place lol

  I get ya, and yeah, our ER sucks too.  I brought in Milo when he was around 2 because he had passed out and hit his head at daycare, and was running a high fever.  They said it would be awhile before they could get me in, I asked if I could at least get some baby tylenol or motrin to bring the fever down while we waited, or if I could leave to get some and come back.  

  
  

  They said if I left, my wait time would start all over, but that they could bring me some.  We waited an hour, and they finally brought us back, but still hadn't brought me any OTC meds like I had requested.  I realize they were super busy, and I should have gone up and asked again, but he then fell asleep, and I didn't know what to do, so I just sat there.

  
  

  Turns out he had an ear infection and probably the flu on top of it, and he was suffering from fever-seizures.  Definitely the most terrifying days I've been though since he was born, but he's all fine and dandy now!
