hi ladies !! Hope you are all having wonderful pregnancies ! I know I'm being silly.. I hope.. But I had my
Whooping cough vaccine today after much deliberation. One of my husbands friends has freaked me out totally by telling me his wife had a stillborn baby at 37 weeks 3 days after the vaccine !!! And everything was all Well and healthy ! I am driving myself crazy. Hope I haven't made a wrong decision ..I know I haven't. Omg can you see what I mean? Sorry ...! Just need to let it out. Oh- the baby is moving around and kicking just fine btw

AAP recommends that all pregnant women and caregivers (aunties and grandmas) get the whooping cough vaccine. When you're PGAL, its so hard to not doubt every little decision we make! But, you did the right thing.
Everything that I've heard or read in regards to vaccine reactions is that any type of reaction would occur within 24 hours. Honestly, I doubt that the vaccine had anything to do with your friend's loss. I think that sometimes we are desperate for answers and unfortunately, vaccines are a hot button and get blamed, when they are often not the cause. Take some deep breaths and try to find comfort in that your baby is telling you "hey mom, I'm good, here's a jab to the rib to show my love"

i agree with everyone else...you've done the right thing by getting vaccinated. vaccines are a good thing and you're doing the best thing you can to protect your LO from pertussis, which is an extremely dangerous disease for babies.

You did the right thing. I got mine a few weeks ago. My state has a high rate of whooping cough so it was a no brainer for me. It will give your baby some protection until they are old enough to get their own tdap shot.

I got mine about a month or so ago. Hubby is going to get his in a week at his physical. My mom and step dad and best friend are getting theirs since they will be around the baby.

Vaccines are good, So sorry for your husbands friends loss.

It is terrible that your friends lost their baby, I'm so sorry to hear that. But since it is recommended that every woman get the vaccine during every pregnancy, it is very unlikely that the vaccine caused their loss. I'm sure she also took prenatal vitamins and drove a car, but those didn't cause her loss either. As MrsWallick said, sometimes when we are desperate for answers, correlation gets blamed as causation. Anyway, that's a long winded way of me saying that you did the right thing. That vaccine will help protect your baby from a serious illness.

ETA: Had to fix this because it looked like I was drunk when I typed it... WTF? Sorry...

I totally agree with previous posts! I can say from personal experience and all of the research I have done on still birth I have NEVER heard/read anything about still birth being linked to vaccine administration.
