High chair users

We are starting to think it may be time to just use the booster seat part on chairs as they are nearing two. I'm used to the high chairs though and like them. When are you all switching?

I don't really plan on taking her out of highchair until she starts to fight it. Once in a while she will want to sit in a chair without it on but so far she loves her highchair.

I don't have any plans to move her yet. I can't wait to get rid of it for space. But not until I can trust her not to climb on top of our table. I use the high chair as a holding zone right before dinner is ready so I can finish up.

We will probably switch her to a booster when DS needs the highchair to regularly eat solids. He just turned 4 months.

  • We have no plans to move to the booster seat yet. He has been fine using his high chair so I don't want to mess with it!
  • We have used the FP space saver from the get go and always liked it. We've stopped using the tray and push him to the table with a placemat and plate. It works. I could see dropping the tray sooner with a possible #2.

Then and now. How did my boy get so big?

  • We bought a booster seat for one of our regular chairs.  It still has a buckle so DD can't just get up from the table.  I just wanted the high chair out of my dining room!

I felt comfortable making the transition because DD was finally keeping food on her plate or in her bowl instead of dumping it on the tray.  That was a big skill for eating at the regular table, in my opinion.
