Hi ladies - I have posted here a couple of times in the past but nothing regularly.
My DS will be 14 months next week and I had him via emergency c/s after about 12 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing -- he was stuck!
I had a mostly-great experience and recovered very easily and quickly and DS is happy and healthy and so am I.
I am not a candidate for a VBAC for a few reasons, which is totally fine with me, so I'm gearing up for a routine / repeat c/s in early September.
Just wondering if anybody has any advice for how to get ready for a routine C/S or things to think about?? With the emergency c/s it happened so fast that I didn't have time or opportunity to think or worry or anything so now I'm moving into planner mode and trying to get ducks in a row prior to the big day.
Thanks!
Re: Routine c/s advice?
Start taking Colase the week before.
It was so low stress for me. The only thing I thought was a little more scary was the epidural because the first one I was in pain so I don't recall the feeling of things going to sleep. The second one obviously I wasn't in labor yet so I had to "feel" it go numb.
The pinch was no big deal but I didn't much like the feeling as it creeped up. They were really good about giving me oxygen and relaxing me.
But it was just nicer knowing date and relative time of delivery. Just walk as soon as they will let you and I "ice" my girl bits because they tend to swell after. I guess most people who get sections don't get this side effect and it took me a few days to figure out ice works
