Could you feel yourself dilating?

41 weeks Wednesday. Being induced on Thursday and hoping I'm going to go into labor on my own before then. Last I heard I was 1 cm. I've been getting really bad pains at the cervix opening area and then something squirts out down there everytime I have the pain. Baby feels like he is lower than he had ever been and bearing down and putting pressure on my whole area down there.
Grasping at straws, but hoping it's some good news!

    I didn't feel anything - I was 3 cm before going into labor. I didn't feel anything from 3-8 cm either, but I was more focused on the contraction pain at that point. I'm assuming everyone is different so I hope you are! Good luck!

    If it's like the sharp pains I had in that area, the midwife told me the baby's head was hitting nerves

    I only felt it when I was 10cm. I felt a lot of low pressure.

    With my DD I went from 1-5 and didn't know it. I finally went into active labor at 5, so I don't think that you can feel it.

    They are very sharp pains and I know they are called lightning crotch and it's hitting nerves, but I just thought it was still possible. He us bearing down so low and hard that it actually feels a little different. I feel weird pressure in my butt area, too.

    Darn! I've had those sharp pains before, but with the really weird pressure and how it feels differently I was hoping it was something. Just hoping it was a sign that things were progressing. :((

    I couldn't feel the dilating.  Just contractions.
