Panicking Slightly - T&P's please ******update****

I am 7 weeks + 3 days and started spotting this evening with light cramping. I'm trying not to panic too much since I called by OB and there really isn't anything to be done until my appointment tomorrow morning (which had already been scheduled). I had my first U/S last week, but there wasn't a heartbeat detected at that time, so she ran several blood tests over the week and scheduled another U/S for one week later(tomorrow).
I can't stand the idea that essentially, I have to lay down with my feet up and wait 18 hours before I can get any real answers either way. I'm so scared and upset, I have no idea what to do. Any T&P will be much appreciated, hopefully I will have good news tomorrow to update with.

UPDATE:
Thank you ladies for all the support. At the doctors appointment today she says that everything is going really well. We finally saw a heartbeat and the doctor says that she is going to run one more test to see about the spotting but for the most part things everything is going according to plan. 
Thankful to have a happy ending to this drama, and to all you ladies for the support. I'm glad to be confirmed at more than halfway through the first trimester, can't wait to be in the clear.
