Anyone else extremely lightheaded??

6w 4d and I've noticed it from the beginning but it's been significantly worse for the last week. I just can't get over how dizzy and lightheaded I am feeling. Today I literally thought I was going to pass out. I've read it can be a 'normal' early pregnancy symptom due to changes in circulatory / blood vessels or potentially from low blood sugar but I would describe what I'm experiencing as extreme. Trying to get plenty of water and eat more frequent small meals but I'm just not hungry and having a bit of food aversion as well. Anyone else notice this?? Should I be concerned?

  • Thanks. Yeah, I think I'm going to call tomorrow if it doesn't improve. Somehow it helps to know I'm not the only one.

When I was pregnant with DS I was lightheaded ALL. THE. TIME. And it didn't matter how much I ate or drank. What made it really hard was that I ride horses professionally and it was not easy to ride all the horses I needed to ride when I felt like I was going to pass out.

  • ME! but it's my only annoying pregnancy symptom (other than gas) so I really can't complain. When I was pregnant with DD I was lightheaded til about week 16-ish. So there's hope that it might go away!

  • Oh my gosh yes!!!  This literally just hit me today.  I have felt very light headed all morning (similar to feeling like you have low blood sugar).  However, it doesn't go away, even when I eat protein or a snack.  It SUCKKKKKS!

  • I had it really bad in my first pregnancy. Every morning when I got out of bed I felt like I was going to pass out. It got better after 1st tri but it still happened frequently if we were out of the house and not eating/drinking enough. (Seemed to be a blood sugar issue)

I remember being in the grocery store when I had a bad episode. I got extremely hot and sweaty. I felt like I was going to throw up and pass out at the same time. DH had to sprint to the front of the store and get me a bunch of skittles from the quarter machine because I needed sugar asap.

I started carrying protein bars in my purse after that. ;)
