Gas **help**

Poor baby keeps waking up screaming becuase of gas pain. He hasn't had a bm in 3 days now. Pedi says this is normal and some BF babies go a week without going !? What can I do to give this little one some relief/ help him go!?

Simethicone works for gas, and Gerber Soothers is a great probiotic that helps baby's gut in general. Good luck, and I hope he gets some relief soon!

  • I always say do what your pedi says. My pedi said I could give him some prune/pear juice or karo syrup if he was constipated. You can always try working his legs, massaging his tummy, do tummy time, warm bath, rectal temp.

My little LO also has had some gas issues. The pediatrician recommended gas drops and they have helped quite a bit. I don't remember the brand name off the top of my head, but they aren't prescription or anything....I just bought them at CVS.

  • gas drops or gripe water, thermometer up their bum with warm wash cloth on their belly, football legs, tummy time...all of those have helped both of my kids.  Good luck!

  • I swear by Gripe Water.

  • My pediatrician recommended Gerber Soothe Drops. They are kind of expensive but have definitely been worth it for us.

  • I might have to look into the Sooth Drops - we've tried leg pumping, warm bath and rectal temp with no luck :( we have gas drops but they won't help him go. Guess we just wait it out ! Might try some tummy time next
  • That sucks. My DD doesn't go one day and she's a mess, I can't imagine three days. My LO is colic and has tummy issues and we use it all. Gerber Soothe Drops, gripe water, colic calm, gas drops, rectal thermometer, football belly hold. I'd keep working his legs, bicycle style, around and around, push his legs toward his chest. It seems to help my LO a bit. Good luck!!!
