I'm touring a daycare soon - what should I make sure to remember to ask or look for? I'll take any advice! I feel like I always forget to ask important questions!
How are the kids fed. If the food is provided what is the menu? What is the nap area like? Is there a designated nap time with lights off? (I feel like now that our babies are older this is more reasonable).
One thing I didn't ask that I wish I had was their smoking policy--Are employees allowed to smoke on their breaks? I didn't ask that and wish I had because I worry about third-hand smoke if they were to do so. I actually plan on talking to the daycare manager this week to find out the policy since LO moves up to the toddler room next week, and I don't know the ladies in there as well as the baby room ladies.
Other things to ask about, some of which other people have covered already--feeding procedures, what does LO need to have in his/her cubby (back up clothes, etc.), vacation policies, sick policies, how they clean toys, how they teach the kids, how they deal with behavioral issues, nap procedures, etc.
