Fetal Doppler question **UPDATED QUESTION!!

For those who have purchased a fetal Doppler, was it worth it to buy one!? Which Doppler do you recommend? And how early were you able to hear your baby's heartbeat with the Doppler? Sorry for all the questions!! Thanks in advance!

We have a sonoline b and I like it. It's easy to use and hearing the heartbeat has helped me feel more connected to the babies. We didn't get ours until I was 11 weeks 3 days and we heard the heart beats that night.

We have the sonoline b as well and it was great for keeping me sane! We didn't actually pick up a HB until about 12 or 13 weeks bc my placenta is anterior but once we knew where to find the HB it was easy. I know that ladies without the placenta in front they could find it much sooner!

I also bought a sonoline b because I saw it was the most recommended. I got mine at 8 or 9 weeks if I remember correctly (really thinking it was 9). I watched a youtube video of how to find it. I didn't find it the first night I tried but I was able to find it the next day. When its that early I know it can be hard to find. I don't use it often anymore because I am feeling movement but now that its bigger it can be harder to find. I think it was def worth the money because it calmed my IF brain.

We have the so sonoline b too. Was for sure worth it, it's only about 59/69 bucks so compared to what we all spend on UF treatments basically free lol. Really helped a bunch in my first pregnancy when I was a total mess waiting for the next round if bad news I kept anticipating. Really helped my stress levels which were through the roof. Heard heart beat between 10 and 11 weeks I believe it was

I have the sonoline b one as well and love it. I found a HB on the first try last pregnancy at 11 wks, and this pregnancy at 8w6d. I only tried that early bc my MFM did an abdominal ultrasound so I felt like I might be able to find it.

I will say baby is in a totally different place this time compared to last. I have a tipped uterus, and last time, even at 11 wks, I had to hold the wand right at my pubic bone, press in a lot and angle the wand down towards my tailbone basically. This time, I am holding the wand 1/2 way between my pubic bone and belly button, and generally angling it straight up and down.

DH isn't able to go to appts with me, so it's awesome to have him able to hear the baby's HB, and definitely a comfort for me to be able to hear it whenever I want to!

Wow so I may have to move all around to try to find it huh!? Lol. I'm 8w2d today so I'll probably be around 9 weeks when I get it! I hope to be able to hear it right away!

I would say start low and move the wand veerryyy slowly. GL

You made me purchase one today too, lol. there are some "reviews" on youtube that I think are helpful. I think the Sonaline B is the one most people use, and is approved by the FDA (if that helps at all).

I borrowed mine from a friend and it is the same one everyone is talking about. I was able to easily find a heartbeat at 10w. I use astroglide for the gel. Seems to work fine

Mine was directly in the center right above my pubic bone and baby 2 was up higher to the left. Good Luck it is addicting. DH loves it

I just got my Sonoline B tonight and figured I would give it a try. It took me three times and I was about to give up when I heard a very rapid HB, it was not as loud as my own so it didn't register on the doppler but I swear DH and I both heard it. I have a tilted uterus and read that it's usually more difficult during earlier weeks.

I'm 9 week 5 days today. Mine was ordered on eBay and it costed less than $50. Good luck!

I also have the sonoline b and started using it at 9 weeks and listened everyday until 20 weeks when I started feeling movement. I have an anterior placenta and never had trouble finding the HB although I know sometimes people can but it was a huge stress relief and I'm so glad I invested in one.

Okay all you folks who have the sonoline b Doppler! I got mine today and right away tried to use it and after almost an hour I only just found my heart beat sound! Lol. I'm going nuts! So I'll be 9 weeks on Thursday so I know I'm early, what's the trick? I probably have to push down hard even though I'm scared! What's the trick on how to begin to find baby!!???

Have you checked out the YouTube videos on tips for finding the heartbeat?

With me, my DH is always the one who does it, but he doesn't have to push hard (we started doing this a little later than you, though, at 11 weeks). We've found slightly tilting the want in one direction or another helps scan more of the area without actually moving the wand that much.

Oh, and I have no idea if this is normal for all pregnancies or just the way I'm carrying (FTM here), but my babies are very very low. Like just a few inches up from my lady parts. I wouldn't have looked that low initially.

Go very close to your pelvic bone. I'm 12 weeks and still right around where my bladder would be ( or at least I think it is). Use gel!!! We had to put some pressure on too.

I didn't find my baby's HB very consistently with doppler until a couple weeks into 2nd tri, so don't panic if you can't find it. (My ute is retroverted so that might have something to do with it.)

When I did find it, it was very low, right above my pelvic bone.

I have a sonoline B and it is great. I didn't get it until 10w2d, but I did find the hb right away. Now that I am farther along, I know that I have a posterior placenta which makes it easier to find things like that. What surprised me the most was how low I had to go at first to look for it. But it does get easier with practice!
