No sleep- high blood sugar?

I have noticed that whenever I don't get enough sleep, my fasting numbers are high. Has anyone experienced the same?

Lack of quality sleep puts strain on a lot of organs.

True, but I wonder which is the cause and which is the effect. Does the poor eating and high sugars cause the sleepless nights or do the sleepless nights cause the high blood sugar?

Sorry, I added the link after you quoted me. I know that the lack of quality sleep can cause high blood sugar. We see this all the time in the sleep lab with patients. Not sure about the eating habits affecting the quality of sleep as we're not really questioning that a ton.
