I had some spotting Friday night which was, thankfully, short lived. It freaked me out since I hadn't spotted in at least 10 weeks. My OB appt is tomorrow so nothing new there. This Saturday is my out-of-town baby shower and I'm super excited for it! I also have to admit I'm kind of nervous because there haven't been many RSVPs, but apparently that's the norm for my family. I've been checking my registries to see if people are buying and just haven't RSVP'd, but I guess if they are coming they are procrastinators as well since the items bought have been done so by immediate family. lol Next Monday DH and I have our first "baby class" as we call it. Then on Tuesday I have an appt to meet the pediatrician my OB recommended. He and his wife, also a pedi in the practice, have 2 sets of twins!

QOTW: I love to go swimming in the summer, but this year I think I'll stick to indoor pools since I'm scared of getting cholasma. My sister had it pretty bad so it makes me think I'd probably get it too.

I am 16 weeks today with 1 bean and my EDD is October 28th. I have been worried about jinxing myself if I posted here and have been a lurker for quite sometime. Hope everyone is doing great.

QOTW: Here in NJ too we have been experiencing warm weather. My favorite summer activity is going for walks in the park.

21 weeks this week and last week's ultrasound went great. Baby was measuring right on track and they said already weighs 13 ounces (I think that is ahead of schedule for the norm). The ultrasound tech even turned on 3D for the last few minutes so we got some pics in 3D. Still team green but still question my decision. I asked the doctor if everything was progressing normal and he said yep a normal pregnancy. I don't know why I can't relax yet and just enjoy this. Next appt isn't until June. Doctor said no more ultrasounds until 35 weeks so I am currently debating if I want to have a 3D/4D one done at 28-30 weeks.

We went this weekend to get registries started since BBB and BRU are 45 minutes away. I still have to edit them online and have been doing so slowly. I hate that there isn't much gender neutral stuff for clothing.

QOTW: I live in Florida so I've found in the summer we just stay in more often, the opposite of what I did growing up up north.

So I am 25w3d today. I can hardly believe it! My shower invites went out last week and now I am shamelessly stalking my registry. I just find it interesting to see what people like to buy you vs. what you actually need the most.

I was scheduled for an OB appointment and glucose test next Wednesday, but I had a weird nipple thing happen and I ended up with my appt and the test today. I will be waiting a few days for the test results, but the OB appointment went well. Everything measured "perfectly." They had a new nurse training today and they had her trying to find the hb about 15 minutes after I had finished the glucose drink, so baby girl was just bouncing around in there. I felt so bad for the new nurse!! Eventually, the decided to just stay in one place but keep kicking, so she got the reading she needed

As for my weird nipple issue - apparently I had a clogged milk duct over the weekend, but it is left it "abnormally irritated". It isn't infected, which is good!! But this irritated duct hurts like a b*tch right now, so I have to keep nipple cream on it and do all of these warm compresses. It is hard to describe, but it looks like a very angry skin tag right on my nipple! So strange!! But at least it is totally harmless.

QOTW: Amusement parks - but I won't be doing that this summer

Hi ladies, I am 17 weeks, next appointment is on Thursday - just a couple more days! I have been feeling so nervous that I haven't felt flutters yet so I can't wait to hear the heartbeat! Anatomy scan is coming up too, on May 26th!

QOTW: favorite summer activity is visiting my sister and her family in Florida! We have been going every year lately and I can't wait for our trip next month! We have a penthouse condo on the beach (we actually only got that one because everything else was booked but decided to splurge because the rest of my family had already made plans to go then also)!

I am so excited to be in 2nd tri!!!

We are using a gestational carrier and are due in the first week of November (14.5 weeks).

Our next appointment is on June 2nd and I am so impatient, I have never gone this long!

I just had my first request to hold a baby shower. I was so afraid (because of our unusual circumstances) that a shower wouldn't happen. So that is the big news this week.

We are at 16 weeks tomorrow and all is well here, though the twin belly is starting to feel a little bit huge and my abs seem to have stopped working.   A friend was laughing at me today because I told her that I'd finally figured out why pregnant women can't sit up like normal people, turns out Ab muscles are important --- and she laughed and told me it was just one of those things people never connect for you when you're on the outside.   mmm.....

I'm pretty tired at work by the end of the day these days - but otherwise I'm making it through most days without a nap.    We haven't met with the OB yet, and are still just seeing the MW, but I'm hopeful that appointment will come soon.   I'm scared of preterm labour so I want to ask for the progesterone support at least to prevent it as much as possible.   There are a couple things the MW can't do for us, and some things that are OB-specific, so I'd like that appointment soon!

Anyone else dealing with super painful nipple issues?   I googled it and it seems as if I have a Raynaud's thing going on in one of my nipples -- if I get caught off guard by cold it shrivels up, turns rock hard and white/purple and burns.   So annoying.   It's gotten slightly better this week, but can't wait for that to go away.....

QOTW: Swimming! Definitely! We've been swimming in our apartment pool a lot lately and it's delightful! It feels so good to escape gravity for awhile!

Things are going great here...cant believe we are almost to the 3rd tri!! I am 26w2d today and baby seems to be growing more and more! Things have been uneventful and I go for my gtt on thursday. @allison7 still waiting in the bedding but it at least has shipped! So nothing much to report.

Qotw: my fave thing pre preg which will be tough was hanging out with dh on our front porch or at a local bar in the lake and having some nice cold drinks! This yr I will just be soaking up the sun and swimming a lot!

@Allison7 appt yesterday went great- it was a wonderful Monday

DH and I slept in after a lovely Mother's Day weekend, had breakfast and coffee, went to the OB office, and saw the NP this time. I should have been more excited to see her because she turned out to be great! She used to be a L&D nurse at the hospital where I'll be delivering, and she was full of helpful information. She also recommended a ton of books and gave me her perspective on meds, birthing methods, etc. Spent a lot of time with us and didn't seem rushed- all in all a great experience. She also said things couldn't be more perfect with me or baby. I was a little concerned about my weight gain but she wasn't the least bit fazed, and that made me feel a lot better about eating one (or two) of the Oreo/peanut butter/brownie cupcakes I made this weekend for our out of town guests

I think we are going to end up buying the convertible crib with the gate at the top so I can reach in easily- DH said over the weekend if I think that's what I really need he wants me to have whatever makes life easier. Thankful he came to his senses without me having to do anything but wait a few days.

QOTW: Well it used to be going camping and floating the river with a cooler of beer. We both love to swim and both his parents and my Dad have a pool so I suspect we'll spend a lot of time with them in addition to going to our community pool. Over the weekend I made the mistake of trying to fit into a pre-pregnancy bikini (the only one that didn't make me look like a pudgy pornstar). The increase in my "assets" has made buying a maternity swimsuit a must!

I'm 24 weeks - V- day was yesterday!! Big milestone. I saw my OB today but he was in a super rush b/c had just been paged to the hospital. The heartbeats were fine and he said b/c the placenta is now "low-lying" (it's now about 1 inch away from cervix) and not previa that I can "do more stuff." However I didn't get a chance to ask him details b/c he was in such a rush - but I'm assuming that means I can do some light housework and cooking at least, and I'll be careful not to overdo it. He did say that I can take a day trip 1.5 hours away and it will be a great relief to be able to get out of town for a little bit. My shower is this weekend - a little early due to my mom's schedule - I'm super excited for it. My friends keep harassing me that there's not enough stuff on my registry but there is! It's just no one wants to buy the boring stuff like the crib mattresses. I'm also getting tons of hand-me-downs which is really great.

Hi ladies! @Allison7, thank you as always for an awesome check in! You put so much effort into them.

I'm 26w3d today, my cervical check last week had stayed the same from the week prior which is great news! It actually grew by 0.2cm which is a physical impossibility but I'll take staying the same as a good sign. My OB appointment today went well, babies look good and are moving around like crazy. Baby A had the hiccups today which was pretty cool to watch. Glucose tolerance test scheduled for Monday so that's one more thing off of the list although I'm not looking forward to drinking that super sugary drink. QOTW: My favorite part of summer is definitely going to the beach. There isn't much better than a good book on the beach with waves crashing in the background.

We are officially half baked on Friday, since we won't be going past 38 weeks. Very excited! We have our anatomy scan on Friday, which I didn't realized is actually called the"anomaly scan" by doctors. I like anatomy better! I found a bunch of storage stuff by 3sprouts - so freaking cute! That's definitely my favorite thing on the registry! DH sent I applications for a few jobs, so we are keeping out fingers crossed! QOTW: I love sitting on the beach and reading. And the SUP we got last summer. I don't think I'll be paddling around much this summer though!

23 weeks 2 days! Follow up ultrasound last week went well. My mom came with but didn't get a showe as baby girl was sleeping with her hands over her face. Measuring right on track though! Nothing new to report at all.

Nursery is in full swing! DH is putting together final piece of furniture right now. Can't wait to get it all done.

QOTW: Summer... what's summer? We have a freeze warning tonight and yesterday I turned the seat warmers on in my car! I usually enjoy floating in the pool with a margarita but I'll need a new drink this summer!

Nothing new to report. 17weeks on Thursday. I'm feeling better, just an annoying cough. I bought my 1st pair of maternity pants. I LOVE them! SOOOO Comfy! I may never go back to real jeans again! I'll just buy smaller sizes as I lose baby weight! LOL

Sitting around fire pit at night & swimming in our pool. Usually drink in hand. Guess I'm going to need to find a new summer drink.

Hi ladies! I'm 24 weeks today -- I think that's V DAY! Yay! It's crazy how fast this is going.

@Allison7‌, we are nearly finished with the registry. There are just a couple things to add that we're still researching. One of those things is bottles...need to figure out which would be best with bf'ing and pumping. And deciding which diapers we'll use. My favorite thing is probably the sheets we picked, which have helped determine how we'll decorate the room. It's a bold flower print in really bright colors: yellow, orange, pink, white, red, turquoise and blue. So we'll pick up on the yellow and orange for lots of stuff in the room. Cute!

QOTW: I absolutely love all the street fests and music we have around Chicago in the summer, and totally expect to be able to hit some of them as long as I'm not too uncomfortable. Then there's always the beach and my parents' swimming pool.

@Allison7‌ -- I've been thinking of your family and your uncle, and hoping for the best.

QOTW: Usually laying out and drinking sangria, but I burn too easily when pg and it isn't the same with no sangria, so my favorite summer activity has become nesting in my house in teh ac!

I'll be 19 weeks on Friday. Two weeks ago the ultrasound tech at our MFM told us we were having two boys. I have pictures with arrows pointing to the tell-tale spots. Fast forward to yesterday, and at our regular OB appointment, the tech said that we are having a boy AND A GIRL!

We told her what the MFM had said (and he has a better machine) and the tech today said that she has been doing this for 30 years and that we are having a girl. Ha! She thinks the MFM got pictures of the same twin twice.

Obviously most importantly they're both healthy, with good heartbeats, etc. They're great and I'm great. We haven't bought one single thing yet. We go back in two weeks to the MFM. But now I'm so confused! Was the MFM right? Or the OB? Only time will tell I guess!

Normally I love drinking beer or wine on the patio.. but this summer I think I'll just enjoy the pool! Yay for summer!

Today is V-Day! Yippy skippy. @GettinCrafty - congrats to us! Next Tuesday is my next app't which includes GTT. I really hope it takes a week to get results since next Friday afternoon is when we leave for our babymoon. I felt Munchkin's first really deliberate kicks yesterday, which was fun.

Funny story: The other day when I was at Orchard Supply Hardware I asked for help carrying a bag of soil since it was heavier than I'm comfortable lifting, and the woman looked at me like, huh? And I cradled my belly and said, "She doesn't like it when I lift more than 8 pounds." And the woman goes, "Oh, gosh, you're pregnant! You're so tiny, I didn't even notice!" I'm up 19 lbs at 24 weeks so "tiny" is not a word I'd use to describe myself.

QOTW: Love going to the beach, which we don't do very often even though we live in LA. Normally I love relaxing in the hot tub at my MIL's but that's out for now!

24 weeks today, V DAY! Feels like such a huge relief getting this far and I've been feeling great this week, just noticing myself moving at a slower pace which im adjusting to ok.

Still working on the nursery, DH is also tackling some household updates so that's taking some time out of the nursery but we have plenty of time. Next appt is on the 19th with MFM.

Hey everyone, so my Uncle is doing well! He is officially off of sedation (although he still sleeps a lot). He has moved all of his limbs and he has no paralysis. He is talking, too. He is still in the hospital

but it is because believe that the meds for his afib caused the stroke. They aren't giving him any meds for afib now, but he is better off in the hospital in case he has a heart issue. Once some of the blood recedes, they will start him on a different protocol for afib and then he can move to rehab!

I'm 14 weeks today with twins with an EDD 11/12/14.

I'm excited and in a bit of shock being in the 2nd tri. I had a pretty rough first tri with nausea and dry heaving & for the most part they are gone. However, I do have moments, which I'll take because it is better than 24/7 nausea. Other than that nothing else since I don't have my next appointment until the A/S on June 20th.

QOTW: being outside (either exercising, cooking or eating) and just enjoying the good weather.

Hi everyone, sorry for the late check-in. My appointment last week was great, I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time, which sounded good at 151. Also my OB said that I can keep doing bi-weekly appointments until I start to feel the baby moving, which makes me happy. So next appointment is next Friday, then the A/S 2-3 weeks after that!

QOTW- doing anything outside in the sun, walking the dogs, lounging around, swimming (when I have access to a pool), gardening, etc.

Hi everyone, late check-in here as well since I was out of town for a conference. I visited two pediatric practices last week and I think we've narrowed down our choice. Both were great, but I liked the personalized attention better at one of the practices

Baby boy is moving a lot. During a movie with the sub-woofers I counted 40 kicks in about 2 minutes! I think he's going to an active little baby and boy. My sister is hosting my baby shower and she sent out the save the dates, and I'm excited to celebrate with family and friends.

QOTW: I love going to the beach, pool and amusement parks over the summer. We are going to Orlando in June, so the only park we'll be visiting is Epcot since they don't have many rides but other fun attractions that are safe for pregnant women.

I am 18 weeks. Appt next week, and anatomy scan either the last week of May or first week of June. I've started feeling occasional movement which is always exciting. Heartburn has definitely set in, but overall I am feeling better every day.

QOTW: Going out on the boat with family. My uncle and cousin both have pontoon boats and we go out every weekend. We usually tie the boats up and it's always a great time. It's a no wake lake so it's completely safe. I love being out on the water, it's so relaxing.

Hi everyone I'm 16 weeks this week . What a week my brother got married last Friday and then on Saturday I had extreme pain in my pelvic area and was unable to urinate at all sorry if that's tmi the pain got so bad I put a call into my Obgyn's office and they told me to go to labor and delivery to see what was going and to rule out a uti. Well I get to the hospital and I was barely able to get out of the car they take me to the floor where they test me for a uti that was negative and put a catheter in me to relieve that pain of me not being able to urinate. The dr checks me and says the reason I was in this pain was I have the rare case of my cervix being so high that it was causing pressure on my bladder by where our little munchkin was laying ( tilted uterus was also an issue) more importantly our little one was rocking out in there and we were so thrilled to hear the baby was healthy and happy inside of me when we heard our little ones heartbeat thumping away. Fast forward to Monday the catheter was hurting me so then I had to go back to the hosiptal and have them take out ( if only I knew they would be putting it back in at 1am the next day) so then that brought me to my bday Wednesday i finally was able to get it taken out and the problem seems to have resolved itself thank goodness. So that brings us up to our next baby check in appointment which is June 10th followed by our anatomy scan on June 11th.

oh and we have hardwood flooring getting installed in the nursery in the next couple of weeks I can't wait to start getting the nursery ready. Have A nice weekend everyone!

Super late check in at 15w5d. Not much going on; am waiting to do 2nd trimester screening blood work next week.

My jeans with the stretch top are bugging me to no end today. Can't wait to get back into sweats at home.

Stressing a bit about child care prospects and the hunt for the right fit.

Hey Everyone! Sorry - I am late with the update too. I'm 15 1/2 weeks! I have an appointment on Friday. I am so excited because I'll get an ultrasound. I haven't had one since 7 weeks, so it will be great to see the baby! I think my doctor will be checking my cervix for shortening. I guess this is routine with people who've had a LEEP (procedure to remove abnormal cells after a abnormal pap). My anatomy scan is coming up June 4th around 18 weeks.

I paid my first visit to a maternity store and didn't like anything there! I did end up going to Old Navy and got a few t-shirts and a dress. Maternity shopping isn't as fun as I thought it would be.

QOTW - Summer - I love sleeping in, vacations, beach, bbq, etc!

@Allison7‌ and everyone else - it's wonderful to see you all doing so well (or at least hanging in there!) I have been terribly remiss and haven't checked in in ages. So here goes:

How far along are you this week? 25 weeks! Crazy. I want LO to stay put long as possible, but I'm so over pregnancy right now. Still queasy, horrible sciatica, not sleeping well, exhausted and still having to deal with work pressures = super stressed. None of it is that big of a deal in the grand scheme, and I feel bad even complaining with what we went through to get here, but I am anyway!

Any appointments or other updates? My next appt and GTT is June 5th. Not looking forward to the icky drink.
