I'm team Jennifer 100%, but Angelina Jolie just said that celebrities shouldn't make comments about mothering because they have a lot more help than most, I wanted to kiss her fat lips
I'm not even reading that. I heard about it on the Today show this morning. Didn't she say that taking a year off from acting when her kid was born "was a birthday gift to myself?"
Seriously, STFU.
That she did. My bday gift to myself is usually a nap or a pedicure. She also said that you can't be a good mother and work all the time. Who knew? Personally I think I rock this shit pretty well.

And this right here shows that she's more in tune with the reality of "normal" people than these other celebs. Do I begrudge her the help? Nope. Do I begrudge Emma Thompson her year off? No way. But acknowledge that you don't live in the same world most of us do and certainly don't shit on people and their lives.
Okay, I guess I'll play the devil's advocate. She said you can't "be a great mum and keep working ALL THE TIME". Not "you can't be a great mom and work". She was fortunate enough to take off some time to focus on her child. She was probably working overtime and then some on movie sets because Emma Thompson is in a TON of movies. Maybe she was just giving her personal account of the joy she felt getting to spend more time being just a mom for a year, rather than making a blanket statement about working mothers. Privileged, fortunate? Certainly, but I don't see why that is a reason to rip her apart.
I see articles like this and wonder "hmm, I wonder what she actually said in what way". Things are skewed so easily and wildly, it's hard for me to believe anything anymore. :-?

I totally agree. The media has such a habit of quoting out of context to make something seem worse than it actually is.
