Too late to see an LC?

DD is just about 3 weeks old. BFing is going well, she's gaining weight, and most feedings she is very efficient. There are times, however that we either have issues with a shallow latch, reflux, and other behaviors like pulling off the boob and crying but still rooting (this happens a lot during overnight feedings and then she won't go back to sleep). I really want us both to continue to be successful with this so I'm thinking of seeing an LC. Is it too late to consider this?

ETA: Does anyone have any experience with starting this late in the game and gaining any additional knowledge or insight that lead you to be more confident or successful? Or am I over thinking this and should live by the "if it's not broke, don't fix it" motto? Thanks!

Re: Too late to see an LC?

  • Not to late at all. I saw the one at my pediatrician office twice, didn't feel super support and ending finding a great one at 9 weeks who have seen twice since ( lo is now 8 months).
LC are great resources throughout the whole breastfeeding time.

Mine did the same, however like others have said if you feel like you could use support, it is never too late. And if you don't have a good vibe from your first LC try again, they are all different.
