Welcome! It's time to check-in for those of use dealing with MFI on our TTC journey. Fill us in on any updates & ask any questions!
We welcome everyone but mostly we are dealing with low count, motility, morphology or all three. Male infertility is a mysterious world filled with questions no one, including REs, urologists, acupuncturists or anyone else seem to have the answers to.Anytreatment suggested is a coin toss for success and a 3 month wait for a fresh batch of swimmers. Most of us are told the only answer is IUI or IVF w/ICSI.The purpose of this group is to support each other through shared experiences and to share any info we can because the more informed we are the better. We will have a check in every other Thursday (I'm early this week). Welcome and baby dust to all!
Anyone new, please intro w/name (if you want), MFI issues and where you are in your curent cycle! Thanks!
HUGS TO ALL THAT NEED THEM FX TO ALL IN 2WW!!
Any questions for the ladies in our group.. don't hesitate!!
QOTW: What is a really good movie you've seen recently?

Re: **MFI Check In **
I had our third IUI yesterday morning. I had 3 mature follicles this time w/ a close 4th. However, DH's counts were worse than ever. 4.2 mil. motile post wash, although the motility did go up from 50% to 70%. I was crying on the table when I heard the news. He started Fertile Blend and Coq10 almost 3 months ago.. so I guess they helped the motility. A part of me thinks his lower counts was bc we BD'd twice on Sunday before the IUI on Tuesday. Bad move. Another part of me thinks its just getting worse. He had 9 mil. for IUI #1, 6 mil for IUI #2 and now this. I'm sad, but I'm trying to balance that w/ not making my DH feel terrible. The RE pushed IVF again if this doesn't work. I want to be hopeful, but I'm having a harder time as the days pass.
Good luck to everyone!!
QOTW: I recently saw The Help (bc I just finished the book).. it was great! Also, Frozen Ground was really good too.

Nothing too much to report here. We are moving to IVF with ICSI and I started BCP yesterday. My RE called today to say that she wants my DH to go in for a frozen sperm for backup if needed. Because we have 0% motility she wants us to withhold one day instead 3-5 so hopefully that will help
QOTD: I'm lame and haven't watched to many good movies lately. We finally saw the Heat and that was pretty good!

PAIF/SAIF Welcome.
I have my CT scan Friday to see if anything else is going on besides IBS. If there is that needs to be dealt with first. After that I'll make the necessary appointments for figuring where we go next fertility wise.
QOTW: Godzilla was pretty good. If buy it on DVD. Also finally got around to watching About Time. Think that's the name of the movie. It was a nice chick flick.
@dharmachick GOOD LUCK!!!
@melisconizzle that is great improvement on the count!! Congrats!

PAIF/SAIF Welcome.
I am just waiting for cycle day 1 ( should be tomorrow). This cycle will be a natural cycle due to vacation and then iui #1 at the end of June. I get kind of discouraged though since I was thrilled with a count of 12 million for our last SA, and I am hoping for a post wash count of 4-5 million ( for our iui ) and I hear other people on here who are devastated by results like that.
It's like is iui a waste of time for us? My RE really gave me hope....

Uro wants us to have another follow up SA 5/9 to see if we see further improvement than we are back to the RE to make a game plan.

**loss mentioned
@TLooney17 I was only sad because he previously had 9mil and 6mil. So his sample just keeps getting worse. To hear that my RE wants 5 mil min. and we weren't there, when I responded so well, was just hard. I just wanted to have a great chance! However, I prev. got pregnant (loss) w/ the 6 mil motile so I've since calmed down and realized our number wasn't so bad if you add my extra follicle. Don't take my knee jerk reaction to heart. Plus it makes me really happy to hear your RE is hopeful w/ that number, mine wasn't giving off that vibe.

I guess that is what is so hard. There seems to be a huge discrepancy in regards to numbers & opinions. I hear one person say they are diagnosed as severe MFI and one person with similar numbers diagnosed with mild. I am never quite sure either if someone is talking about a total count or a count per ml.
My RE would like to see around 5 million total post wash ( ideally )for an iui, but I hear other people get those results and think it's horrible. There are so many differing opinions when it comes to MFI.
@MissEm15 I understand your reaction completely. No one wants their counts to go down.
@BlueJoan is that a total count of 16 million or per ml. ? If it's per ml I find that hard to believe, especially since I got pregnant on my own ( after a little over a year of trying) with my son when my husbands count was 16 million per ml and our motility was only at 40% with 2% morph.
