yeast diaper rash

Have any of you encountered this? C got a rash a few days ago, and I asked the pharmacist what I can give her, and prescribed her a cream and said it sounds like a yeast diaper rash. Tried calling her pedi's office but she wont be seen until Tuesday. How long does it normally take for it to go away?

Re: yeast diaper rash

  • Thanks ladies! I got off the phone with my pedi a few hours ago, and she said to keep on doing the anti-fungal cream, and she also prescribed a antibiotic ointment for her, and rotate between them (she couldn't see her so she wasn't sure if it was a yeast or a regular diaper rash). We use disposables, so that's not an issue.

  • Me too. This is my real first encounter with it, so this is all new to me. My mom bought her different wipes, and I used them, and hours later she got the rash, so I'm pretty sure it's from them. I've been using just toilet paper, mild soap and water for now. Gotta love parents! lol

  • How did your pharmacist prescribe a cream? Pharmacists can't prescribe medicine.
  • When I meant prescribed, I meant recommended. She pointed out the best anti-fungal I should give her.
