Question about swings.

Quick question for you ladies.
I'm currently borrowing a My little snuggabunny swing from a friend. I'll have to give it back in like 7 weeks when she's due with her 2nd.
Penny loves the swing so much. She'll be close to 3 months when I have to return it.
Is it worth buying one at that point? When do babies grow out of their swings? I know the max weight is 25 pounds but I can't imagine a 25 pound baby in a swing.... I can't even imagine a baby that crawls enjoying a swing still.
I just don't want to spend the money if I'm only going to get another month out of it.
Maybe some STMs have some insight?

Re: Question about swings.

  • Not STM but everyone I've talked to says they're good for about the first three months. We'll see if that's true!

  • If you find you want to buy one, maybe check out craigslist or local consignment shops to get one cheap. We had a friend let us borrow one too and we just washed all the padding in the washing machine and sanitized the hard surface you could do the same with a craigslist or consignment shop find.

  • I don't remember exactly how long DS used his but definitely more than 3 months, I feel like it was more like 8-9 months
  • My girlfriend's daughter just outgrew theirs and she's 10mo.
  • My #1 has been my only one to like the swing but she was done with it when she learned to sit up at 5 months. If youre having more kids, Id buy one

  • I would buy one.

  • I would probably not buy one at that point, but I think you just have to wait and see how much you're still relying on it. If it's buying you 20 minutes a day that's saving your sanity, it's probably worth it even if you only use it for a few more weeks.

  • Thanks Ladies! Since she loves it so much now it seems like I should start looking for our own. We will be having more kids too so it's probably a smart purchase. I was just hoping I could put it off until baby 2. But if she can use it for another 6 months then we will probably get one of our own.
