  I had several people recommend it. I havent read or watched it. But I plan too. Couldn't hurt.

  I think it has great ideas. DS was a fairly "easy" baby, but we still applied the principles of most of the 5 S's when needed.

  They covered it in the last week of my childbirthing class which was about newborn care.  All of the Happiest Baby on the Block steps made really good sense and it's probably something you watch on Youtube or read a quick overview about.  I don't read much so watching the 5-10 minute video in class and discussing it worked for me.

  Skip the book at watch the DVD. Very worth it and my DH loved it.

  I like the concept however hated the 45 minute video that we watched in class.....maybe see if you can find a shorter one online!

  Def watch the dvd!!! Very helpful. Watching him demonstrate rather than reading and imagining what he meant was incredibly helpful, and dh felt the same way.
  
  We are planning to watch it again as a refresher before ds2 arrives.

  Alex has arrived! 9 pounds, 21 inches - 3 weeks early on March 2nd ~went natural - very intense. whew!~

  We got the DVD from the library, DH liked that it gave him 'instructions' on what to do to calm the baby down. I wouldn't purchase it since it isn't somthing I think you would watch more than once.

  Yes. DD was/is fairly easy at bedtime, but we used the 5 S's quite a bit. Easy to read book with great tips. I never watched the video though. I recommend the book to everyone.

  My MIL gave me the book and I'm only a couple chapters in. Seems to make a lot of sense! I'd say to give it a shot. It's an easy read.

  I never opened the book, but got the basics online and it did work. I'll likely watch the video this time, but I donated the book.

  I'm reading the book right now and the info is good but it is REALLY redundant. I feel like the publisher said, "It needs to be longer so we can charge more" and the author wrote the same thing over and over.

  I liked the book although I agree it was quite redundant. I'd definitely recommend trying to find it or the DVD at the library. Also, I was a bit discouraged when DS1 was not easily soothed, even when we incorporated all the strategies. I felt like I was doing something wrong, but it turned out he was just broken. (I kid!) But we did finally find out around 9 weeks that he had reflux.   They have it on netflix if you get discs still, not instant unfortunately.  But, I ordered it on netflix first to see if it was worth buying.  Definitely worth watching, but I don't plan to buy it.  It's easy to absorb the short movie watching it once or twice.

  I read the book. It was definitely helpful. DD was colicky, so many times even these principals didn't work.... But it's good knowledge and generally very good concepts.
