What part of the day are you at your "best"?

I know a lot of people call the mid-afternoon the "witching hour" or whatever, but that's actually when I'm on top of my game. From about 3 until bedtime, I am ON IT.

I'm good first thing in the morning, but my horrible time is after breakfast and before lunch. So from like 9am - 1pm or so, I am just shot. I don't know why. I think part of it is that the kids want to be entertained immediately and want to go go go while I'm still trying to clean up from breakfast, get everybody ready for whatever the plan is for the day, etc.

So when are you at your best? When are you at your worst? How do you combat those feelings of OMG I AM GOING TO DIE IF THE CLOCK DOESN'T MOVE?

I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you a thousand more.

I am a great parent right after naptime. They are rested, I got a break... I have a hard time gettign moving in the morning, and struggle to get everyone ready and out the door, but once were out of the house I'm good.
I think that's partly why I love the afternoons so much. Once we're back from errands/swimming/whatever and it's rest time with puzzles or board games or whatever, I am so much happier.

  • I'm at my best from about 7:30 until 1 every day. Afternoons are tough.
  • I am good from the first sip of coffee until naptime (12:30ish). Then I take a break and lose all momentum.

  • Definitely morning. My patience gets thinner as the day gets later.
  • Yeah my worst time is after nap and before dinner.  Like PP said, it's because I've lost my momentum, we don't usually have anything planned/there's not enough time to go out to an activity before I have to make dinner, and DS isn't always content to play at home.  But somehow right before bedtime his toys suddenly become very interesting.

I am at my best in the AM too.

  • Would you ladies say that your best/worst times are strictly parenting-related or housework/other errands related? Like, I have zero motivation to clean up the house, do laundry, etc. until after lunch.

  • I'm an awesome parent right after bedtime..... :-P

J/K...it really depends on the day.

  • It depends on the day for me honestly. Sometimes I'm great in the morning, sometimes around 2 until bedtime.
  • I'm good until about 2-3pm, then I start counting down to afternoon nap/quiet time. The worst part of my day is from 5:30-7:30, 8pm if DH is working late. My kids all seem to lose it right before dinner and then it's the billion things that have to be done at once to be ready for bedtime.

  • First thing in the morning and then right after nap time. Sometimes I get one more burst of energy after the kids are in bed around 8:00 pm... sometimes, haha.

  • I am usually on it during the morning because we have things to do. My bad time is mid afternoon. I am tired, Ds doesn't nap, it is not fun.

  • I am an amazing parent from like 12-5 AM.  Both my kids sleep through the night so I am an excellent parents while they are sleeping and while I'm sleeping.

  • Afternoon. I a night person, I hate the morning. Unfortunately, DD goes to bed early. But when she's in bed, I get most cleaning, organizing, cooking, etc done.

  • I hate mornings. I always feel the need to get stuff done and it's stressful to have tons of stuff on my list to get done. From about when her nap starts until bedtime, I'm a rockstar. I get my free time during her nap to relax and do what I need. After she wakes up, I feel refreshed with everything done and some me time, and we just get to do fun things together. DH comes home at 5 and we play together, eat dinner, do bathtime and then bed.

I am my best from when I wake up to about 2:30/3:30, when we get back from getting DD1 from school.  DD1 needs help with homework and immediately needs a snack, DD2 is always losing her shit, I am trying to prep dinner and straighten up around the house.  And it doesn't stop until bedtime and I just hope I don't completely lose my mind prior to that precious time of day.

  • I'm best between 7:30-2:30 when my daughter is in school :D

    Ok, I kid.  Do I?

No.. my best is always mornings, I'm a morning person.  Like 7-10am is my best.  I can tend to get a bit more cranky towards early afternoon.
